That was Kanye, if I recall (unless Diddy did a version as well/produced/whatever).

Daft Punk uses a lot of sampling as well...as does electronic music in general. Lots of dance hits are remakes of older songs. Some change a lot, or only use a little to start with, but still...

Covers abound in rock or country or whatever too.

I mean, I don't tend to care for much of hip hop in general either, but sampling isn't something to get all bent out of shape over. It's pretty much a given.
