I think they should just move the less congested servers around a bit, lower the total amount of servers, which in turn should lower their total overhead, which in turn should lower my monthly fee.

Compared to Sylph's usual 1300 people through the week, that's pretty amazing to me.

(2100 people at 2 PM EST on a Saturday, max I ever see anymore is 3000 on a Saturday night)

We'll reach as low as 2500 in the early afternoon (really the only time you can merit in Thickets without getting cockblocked by 4-5 parties in in MJSP/Nyzul)

It's pretty terrible as unless you're doing some instanced shit, xp'ing/farming/camping NM's, playing during Friday-Sunday nights is rather worthless.

Anyway, hopefully they won't try and divide some servers such as Odin because of this. Because I'm personally just using the free account for personal reasons and once it expires I'll be getting rid of that character. I can assume others are doing the same thing.

Indeed good for some but I don't believe good for all. Personally I don't like that, mainly because when you obtain something you feel less of an accomplishment because things aren't very rare anymore. Even the so called "big accomplishments" such as a relic are becoming somewhat of a bore because so many people have them now.

aren't server crashes wonderful? Midgard crashed this morning at about 4-430am EST. Was back up within a few minutes, but it was a server wide red dot.

Unless some servers are different than Bahamut, I don't see how any server would want a higher population like someone mentioned earlier in this thread. It seems to me that level sync and higher xp/kill for EP/DC enemies would have greatly helped low population servers be able to get xp in a more timely fashion. All I see on bahamut is overcrowded merit camps, overcrowded king camps, and overbooked dynamis time slots.

If square ever tries to consolidate servers, I'll be breathing fire. I'd love to just pay double the monthly rate to be on a server with half the people (maybe make "premium servers" with a player cap on so they never would grow too big).

Just the name, 'Final Fantasy', sells this game better than any advertising campaign ever could. Give it a rest about it dying already, no one gives a shit. Play if you like it, quit if you don't, either decision you make is not going to make it die any slower or quicker.

Sure its nice when you find a party for you to and empty camp. Just seems lately harder to find parties and harder to find shouts for things too.
