4600 right now.
Latest I've been up, so I'm not sure if this is normal or not for this server, but it shouldn't be that far off.
Well... to be honest... that actually sounds halfway reasonable <_< lol
But back on topic, I've seen a huge increase in players, than again I'm also noticing shitloads of RMT Manaburning low levels.
So like.... save your expensive shit to sell sometime around christmas, because RMT will have countless manaburn parties at 75 before the end of October.
Go Go Inflation.
BUT FFXI IS DED
THEN WHO WAS SERVER!?
Haha! It's funny because it's not true!
I can appreciate people defending the game, but it's not hard to see some of the corners SE has backed themselves into. Merits are just a temporary solution to level caps, and eventually they won't be able to add more endgame gear if they continue to fear antiquating old stuff. Then there's the comedy of the Mythic quest...
It's annoying when the playerbase can collectively come up with improvements that'd make things awesome, but they usually wind up being ignored. Guess I'll default to PS2 limitations there.
I was talking to a friend earlier and he said it'd make camping HNMs a tad more interesting if you gave Fafhogg, Behe/KB, and Ada/Aspid a chance of an HQ2 (He called it Celestial Behemoth) It was definately an interesting idea.
I personally would like to see the 21-24 King Pop Timers just be 21 hours flat, none of that 3 hour camping BS.
Or do the same thing they did with ixion, You need an item to throw at it to claim it, first RNG to hit it gets claim. (That would help the botting issues to a little bit of an extent)
And as for PS2 Limitations, what do you think the repercussions would be of phasing the PS2's ability to run FFXI out completely?
I'm not even sure if many people still play on PS2 at all.
JP's
FFXI is really dying, too many people try to play at the same time![]()

I hope this is a joke, they should do something about it already and block Odin, things are getting out of hand.Originally Posted by Playonline

Actually I was just thinking of doing that.
I think I'll do it on both my accounts and leave them running when I'm at work.
Would be a flawless plan but you couldn't log it in.
People think more ppl = easier party forming. Sure, but where the hell are you going to camp? No one thinks outside the box, everyone tries to cram into the same place (sure there are alternative camps but no one bothers to try them).
I'd sure as hell hate to camp late day fafhogg on that server. There must be at least 300 people in a room the size of my living room. Any Odin HNMers out there care to say how bad faf gets there?
I'm actually surprised they haven't blocked Odin already... haven't they shut servers down for world transfer in the past when things got congested? Or at least blocked character creation?
Not as bad as you MIGHT think, depending on the time frame his window is in. A number of our endgame shells have long given up on kings, and every shell has people who refuse to camp or magically sign offline just before a camp.
Still, there are days when it's in JP prime, but not ridiculously early morning NA time, when it's pretty laggy. I don't recall seeing 300 in the Aery anytime very recently, or even 200 really - 150 probably though. If it does land in that perfect time frame, is a pretty late day Faf, and no other kings are in the same time frame, I'm sure we hit 200+ very easily.
Have to say, with what I'm hearing from everyone, guess it's a good time for my computer to have gone caput.![]()
