And doors or not, Self.Destruct Bifron and casting magic on em etc etc is all more weird then the doors being discussed imo.

You really think it's that weird considering the 2f flans can't have magic cast on them and the 4f rampart has to do with killing all the mobs without losing any. (Similar to Self Destructing) Nothing surprises me when it comes to salvage. It's beginning to seem like Ring's run was just an anomaly though.

I was beginning to believe it was an anomaly too, but our checker says it happened again, but while killing the Wamouracampa this time. We are going to send several people to check the next time we go. I was not on this run.

Cool, very good info. Just curious which wamouracampas did you kill? I am still considering other possibilities, just because there is such weirdness in general in Salvage, like the 1F Rampart in Arrapago, etc.

I have already dealt with such negative comments previously, and my own personal doubts. Considering the circumstances of Salvage and the potential for a myriad of other explanations I would think that the situation is worthy of investigation just for the sole reason that any potential benefit far outweighs the cost in testing.

In the history of Bhaflau Remnants, with it being the "easiest" of the zones, I can't imagine no one would have ever come across MB without seeing it despawn at some point.

If the mob-kill is a trigger, then there are questions like whether or not it's a mob quota, or a specific if not randomly chosen mob that's a placeholder, or something similar.

That is what I am left with also, some kind of mob quota or killing a specific placeholder. I know that creating new ideas just because old ones don't work isn't always best for testing, but I would like to put this to bed one way or the other.

Well, we will keep checking, but I would say that there is a much larger chance that this was caused by some kind of computer issue (lag, glitch, etc.) than I had hoped.

I don't really mean to throw more fuel on the fire, especially as someone who doesn't play anymore (but keeps lurking in ffxi boards apparently like 50% of people that stop playing), but for the record, I am 95% certain that the exact same thing happened to me about a year ago. I was in bhaf as a blm, checking on MB, didn't see it from distance as I was coming around the corner coming to the door, and decided to go in just for the hell of it, and bam-there it was right in the middle of the room. Now I know I was semi-distracted from a conversation on vent at the time, so I can't vouch for explicitly seeing it pop, but I do know that:
1. I should have been in range to see it coming around the corner, so it wasn't a distance thing, and
2. It was in the middle of the room, so it wasn't a matter of not seeing it due to the angle I was looking through the door

Ever since then, I would always go back & double/triple check on MB when we did a run, but never saw a late pop. Sometime after, I decided that farming gear at 1/50 or worse drop rates wasn't fun, and decided to stop playing. Again, sorry to lurk, but anyone trying for salvage gear has my sympathy, and anything I can do to help people finish the grind faster I'm happy to do.

Yeah. We got unlucky on ranged once. Cleared the entire first floor without seeing a single range drop. Mad Bomber wasn't up afterwards.

Alibee has been doing Salvage since the very beginning, I begrudge them nothing. We only started (very roughly) when the starter box was added to Salvage, and we already have someone that is close to completing a second set and has more than a few pieces on mannequins or for jobs they rarely play.

Nothing weird about that. Pannus cells early on, especially in Zhayolm and Arrapago, are quite overpowered. Not to mention a possible Radiatus cell for delicious TH+1.

I think the weirdness has been throughly beaten out of Salvage, and the only instances of weirdness are programming oversights (SS drop rates, Frog Chorus working as intended, what's the deal with pouches) or things that are conspicuously left to random chance (Mad Bomber, every RR NM spawn ever).
