I understand that more people than just homosexuals value equal rights when it comes to marriage. I just think that homosexuals have an uphill battle trying to keep laws in place to protect their rights.

If this was true the Greeks would have failed to reproduce new generations. From what I remember about this subject, in Ancient Greece, some Upper-class men would have sexual relations with younger men and introduce them into high society life at the same time. Sexual relations between men of the same status/age was still taboo.
As far as prop. 8 goes, Is the definition of one word worth thousands, perhaps millions, of people's happiness?
What about your (theoretical) daughter reading about prince Bob and prince Eric then? How much is that worth?
gay should not be able to marry, interracial marriages need to be banned again, and abortion needs to be illegal, or make it a firesale abortion.
For the Floridians among the BG populace, strike down Prop 2. It's illegal and immoral. After all, Septimus should be allowed to marry the Galka of his dreams! Think of the Galkas!
in regards to ancient gay sex, I remember reading that civilizations wouldn't look down on it because it helped curve the population. It makes sense to me... there'd probably be two times more tight-assed morons running around if people weren't gay.
voting no on this bullshit.
I understand your confusion, as there is also a "Sarah's law" in England about something unrelated.
However, here in the states, ...well I'll just let wiki do it.
etc. etc.Proposition 4, or the Abortion Waiting Period and Parental Notification Initiative, also known to its supporters as Sarah's Law, is an initiated amendment that will appear on the November 4, 2008 ballot in California. It proposes a new amendment to the California Constitution.
...
Planned Parenthood Affiliates of California and others filed a lawsuit with the Sacramento County Superior Court in early August to strike out all references to "Sarah" and "Sarah's Law" and "other misleading language in the voter's guide" for Proposition 4. The title "Sarah's Law" refers to the case of 15-year-old "Sarah" who died as a result of an abortion in 1994. Proposition 4's ballot language in the official voter's guide suggests that "Sarah" might have been saved had her parents known about her abortion. Opponents of Proposition 4 argue that "Sarah" was not considered a minor in Texas, where the abortion was performed, and that she already had a child with a man who claimed to be her common law husband.

I am 100% voting NO on 7!
The commercials totally got me, but the bill is totally corrupt, and it will really hurt us in the long run.
A billionaire from out-of-state spent like 1 billion on "yes on 7" because it will help him make more money, from our taxes. It's extremely flawed.
I strongly advise to vote NO on 7. http://www.noprop7.com/
http://ca.lwv.org/lwvc/edfund/electi.../pc/prop7.html
We tried a "renewable energy source" proposition a few years ago that would have been incredibly costly and given us nothing at all except a few empty promises, just like this new prop 7. Gonna vote no on that.
If you go to the site I posted, it gives more than enough reasons to vote No on 7.
There are also like 100s and 100s of groups that support Vote No.
It's like $300 on average more in electricity bills a year too, which is ridiculous, especially in our economy.
It also STOPS renewable energy development.
If we want to go greener, we won't be able to if Prop 7 wins.
It will be a catastrophe.
Voted no on everything cept on props 5 and 11 the high speed train and renewable energy is nice and all but we got no money. Prop 11 should make politicians more accountable cause I'm tired of this budget bullshit.
I haven't though I have co-workers who do. It's slow but overcrowded already I hear. It's saving a lot of money for people on gas, which says to me, we need more commuter trains. It's a great way to help with the gas madness.
@Xenega ty for that site helping me decide on that one.
Awethum.
psst, no on 8 is the pro-gay stance.
In fact, voting no on 8 actually makes you gay.
The actual ballot in the booth is just a vaginal and a giant dildo. You actually have to sit on the giant dildo to vote for prop 8. You also have to make your kids do this in order for your vote to count. This ofcourse doesnt work for women, but then again gay women around me usually turn bi, so the argument is null.
Missed out on saying this, earlier, but the new proposition allows any legal adult relative of the child to be informed, should the parents be deemed abusive.
Just wanted to throw that out there.
Edit: More specifically,
- Provides exceptions for medical emergency or parental waiver.
- Permits courts to waive notice based on clear and convincing evidence of minor’s maturity or best interests.
- Mandates reporting requirements, including reports from physicians regarding abortions on minors.
- Authorizes monetary damages against physicians for violation.
- Requires minor’s consent to abortion, with exceptions.
- Permits judicial relief if minor’s consent is coerced.
The point is, if minors are ultimately the final word on the decision, then why require notification of anyone other than the minor?
The last thing that a panicked, pregnant 15 year old needs is to be put before a judge to explain why papa shouldn't be told.
