1MP/tick is a whopping 1200MP over the course of an hour. I'll let you be the judge of whether an extra 1200MP per hour is worth it.

Ask yourself this: How many slots give acc? LOTS! How many slots give refresh? Only one (unless you sacrifice 5 for full yigit). I think its pretty obvious that you can make up for the acc elsewhere but the extra refresh is irreplacable.
Also, where does this 6000 mp/hr come from? It's impossible for BLU to get 5 mp/tick refresh consistently on its own. Under normal circumstances you will only have 1mp/tick from spells so morg/magus effectively doubles this (slightly less because you still swap af1 for many spells).
Considering outside forms of refresh (sanction, baln ring, refresh/ballads/evokers) only complicates the argument and shit becomes even more situational... I tend to gage my performance independent of outside support because I like to be able to function in most any situation. Not every pt has a RDM or 2 BRDs or whatever.
Regardless, for a job that's as mp dependent as BLU is, more refresh is always a good thing!
The answer to this depends way too much on mob, gear, and buffs. But since I'm posting I'll say that if, in a 15 minute period, ~5% of your melee dmg is more than 4 of your disseverments, use Homam. If you don't care enough to take your mind off your meripo long enough to calculate those numbers, go with style. Of course, there's no clear winner in this category either imo. New thread maybe? ...
By this logic, you want Homam Zuchetto instead of Walahra Turban?
Not that I'm saying TPing in Homam Zuchetto is horrible, it's just the logic saying rarity of certain stats make certain item better than the others regardless of effectiveness that item can offer.
I'll always have RDM with me whenever I go BLU. If I want to be nitpick about semantics, I can say you're not always getting 1MP/3 seconds with Mirage Jubbah because you need to swap to AF body for casting. Also, where does this 6000 mp/hr come from? I'm not too familiar with the situation you described, maybe some concrete examples can help me.Considering outside forms of refresh (sanction, baln ring, refresh/ballads/evokers) only complicates the argument and shit becomes even more situational... he can always get 1MP a tic if he doesn't swap out his body. Not everyone casts spells in AF body.
I don't think full timing morrigan's is that bad even if you include spells. Maybe it's just me being delusional because A) I don't want to take AF out of storage B) Morrigans looks better and we all know fashion > function.
upgrade the body and request the rest and store![]()
WHat did Niro get banned for O_O
For VZX:
I think you misunderstood my argument... I simply wanted to point out that you can easily make up for the 5 or 10 lost acc elsewhere but body is basically the only slot that can provide a "full time" refresh bonus. As such, I'm more willing to take a relatively small hit in acc for what I believe to be a very significant boost in mp regen. Especially since most of the stuff you'll be TPing in allready has a bunch of acc anyways. I believe this provides a better balance overall between tp gain/melee dps and mp gain/spelll dps.
To be perfectly honest, I don't have a homam body or mirage body so my options are pretty clear: TP/WS in morg and cast the majority of spells in Magus+1 (just obtained on sunday woot!). That said, I still believe for a melee/caster hybrid job that has many options regarding acc gear and few regarding refresh gear the choice should be obvious for most situations.
Although I did make the mistake of confusing magus and mirage, thanks for reiterating a point that I explicitely made...morg/magus (ment mirage here, oops) effectively doubles this (slightly less because you still swap af1 for many spells)
Also, blanket statement saying that you never play BLU without a RDM in your pt seems kinda presumptuous but to be fair im not fully aware of your authority when it comes to job planning and such in your LS. You might have other DD jobs that are better suited to partying with WHM or SCH healers, I don't know... My points remains that I believe morg/mirage to be better TP pieces in the vast majority of situations because proportionally, the extra mp gained will in my opinion outweigh the loss of acc.
Thanks for the bump and all the useful information.
One thing to consider doing, which I did over this last weekend, is store the entire set of AF1 with NPC, and then re-quest up to the body. I didn't much like losing 4 inventory and spending 1000 gil every time I changed to BLU (which is probably 3-5 times a week, my BLU events and my BLM events basically alternate lol). So this way it's inventory -1 100% of the time, instead of -5 50% of the time, and I don't have to remember to hit up the NPC. I also plan to upgrade it eventually, hopefully before the next time they add new spells so I can take the NQ set off NPC for the hands's bonus.
AF2, though, I don't see why you wouldn't take it off the NPC every time you play BLU after you can store it. Head, Legs, and Body are all worthwhile pieces, although Body is a bit a more situational if you have Morrigans, which it sounded like you do. If you are just going to keep those on the NPC forever, why even lot them? Pass to someone who might make proper use of them.
I would say Relic Body is better because it is viable in more situations than Homam. In order to maintain a meat build, you'll have to accommodate for that ACC that you would already have from sushi. As a result, your spells will become less potent. If the mob doesn't have incredibly high EVAs, then it may not be a problem, but if you're looking for an overall set up, you'll have to consider mobs of all types (From Merit Mobs to Dynamis-X Mobs).
Unfortunately, there are so many horrible blue mages out there that give the job such a bad name that something like this does need to be said.
Other things to mention: Magic attack doesn't increase physical spell damage, casting in mp gear instead of str gear is a no no, and trying to go /nin and use disseverment on HNM's doesn't work well.
Sadly I'm going to guess that most of the people who need to be told this stuff don't read these boards, lol.
