That's amazing, but I wonder why this is so high for just one week. Maybe a disgruntled IGE employee leaked some names.

I think it's because they tend to hold gil exchange-based RMT for a couple weeks while they investigate, and then just get a bunch at once.

Or they can protect your account a little better with making it harder to jump server's, etc. Every time a friend of mine go hacked his account was jumped to another server before it was stripped. Making it so you had to reenter your full CC info would help with this, or at least make it so the RMT had to change your CC info before jumping so you don't get charged the bullshit fee. It would also help track CC of the RMT if they really did change it.

Also if they could make a system so you could personal ban any IP but yours/other IPs you use from even logging into the accont would help with 99% of the hacks. Of course this would be for people like myself where only myself touches my char. By IP i also mean like, Just US IP's can log into my accont, i'm sorry i don't see myself going overseas anytime soon so why would i want someone from overseas logging into my accont?, etc, etc.

Getting FFXI account hacked is bad enough, i wouldn't risk my CC info over keylogger again.

They said something along these lines in a prior banstick notice.

Apparently RMT tend to work in relatively large groups and once the STF gets their nose under the tent, they tend to watch for a while before taking down the entire network.

One of my friends got his account banned today. I believe that the unusual high numbers at the end are a result of investigations into who received RMT gil. That's the only thing he did that could have gotten him banned.

A quick check of FFXIAH (not the computer I play from) shows that at least some of the items that are usually subject to price manipulation are now trading normally.

That's just one of them. They run rampart on Bahamut for some weeks now. Reported them a few times but nothing happens.
Annoying thing about AH manipulation is that nothing but scorched earth is left for every normal seller.

Well then just have it so it asks for a random set of numbers in your CC IE: 2nd, 4th, 7th number of your CC, whichever is the Number you can not see when you go into your info.

The other way they could combat this would be to ban the person that got the benefit of the illicit activity. Esp since at least some of the serious botting is done on 2ndary accounts for the benefit of the primary account.

I was wandering around on my BST the day after update, and happened across the Lufaise Meadows/Mis Coast treant area. It was totally clear of RMT farmers, so I whooped for joy and proceeded to kill trees for quite a while, and got a whole bunch of great mistletoe drops.

I was very happy with myself until I got back to WG and found they weren't worth anything anymore. True story.

Same, except replace BST with THF and "got back to WG" with "sat in my MH because I farmed them while stoned".

ls member got suspended. he said all he did was use apradar for antlion ENM. anyone else paranoid?

Not really skerd myself. The majority of the time that non-RMT people have been suspended it's because people get pissed that they got outclaimed on a NM for a few days in a row and start calling GM's on them saying they're there 24/7 and MUST be botting/hacking/etc. They see them when they're on all the time!!!one11!!!

I know someone who got banned after a suspension for saying bad words in say/shout. After the suspension was up he came back and he was banned. The GM told him he had previous complaints of a different nature against him.

The only thing I can think of was the fact that he was constantly at megalo(claiming and such)and saving up for mandau. That's the only thing that he's done that I would think someone would call a GM on him for.

I think it's because this falls into their "Monster Hunting(monopolizing a certain monster)" catagory.

I could be completely wrong and he could've been a botting/hacking crazy man, but I doubt that he was.

If any of the people that were suspended after this(and have no idea why) could maybe think of a recent time that they completely controlled a NM for a few days or even farmed an area with an iron fist, perhaps you could help proove my theory.

The GM's don't seem to be too freespeaking with the reasons for these bans/suspensions. That's why I don't like to stay in one place for too long. All it takes is one douchebag to get pissed because you're controlling an area and call a GM to flag your name as a suspect for RMT like activity. True story.

Anyway, is it just me or has there been a huge explosion of RMT fish botters lately? I have seen quite a lot of them in N. San d'oria since late August.
