Seriously, I have no idea why people are dumb enough to talk about windower in the game. That's what MSN, Forums, and Vent are for.

lol you don't suppose that GMs are watching ENMs for people mysteriously heading straight for the right antlion then?
What does Apradar exactly do?
ApRadar reads server memory and projects it onto a minimap (much like your /map in game) which appears in a separate window. From here it's basically like a short-range permanent widescan (~50').
When unlocked you can also see where specific mobs died etc.
Wow... sounds kinda cheap
It's a client side tool only, which means that to my understanding SE can't legally check for it unless they update TOS. Aside from that, it's possible to get lucky and find only the right antlion every time and if you know the real antlion's spawnpoints it's not particularly hard to hug walls when travelling between them to minimize risk of aggroing fakes. APRadar is entirely unnecessary for this, if they were suspending/banning for it I'd have a decent laugh though![]()
So basically it's a hack..guess there should be no surprises if people get banned for it..I don't see why it would be funny if people got banned/suspended for it, if all it did was display a minimap like most FFs..yeah they wouldn't/shouldn't suspend for it..but people get too used to using these little "helpers" they forget that they aren't part of the normal game.
Some people think that ApRadar is ok, and some people think it's a hack. I lean toward the latter and I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the problem with these new bannings. Although I would not use ApRadar, I can see how some people believe there is a distinction between using it and more "traditional" forms of hacking. That being said, I think that claiming it is a "client side tool only" as a kind of justification for it's use is pretty thin. Botting and many other forms of "traditional" hacking are client side only also, and will garner bans in much the same way.
There's always the one person who doesn't have vent to ask me shit like that, too, and while I generally like to be helpful, fuck you if you think I'm going to put my account at risk to answer your windower/plugin questions.
ls guy talked about changing .dats around and got temp'd.
GM said it's agaisnt ToS to remove/change .dats (duh but we all do it, even if it's just changing), so id be wary about even mentioning the word .dat now.
It is, since idiots removed fly .dats to claim HNMs easier in the aery, otherwise, SE doesn't care because:
-They can't see your .dat changes
- Even if you say you changed .dats they have no proof therefore they can't touch you.
So more than likely the GM must not have liked your LS mate or your LS mate likely used windower and certain plugins that are tale tell signs, like the one that adds timestamps to your chat..and when the GMs reviewed it, they seen the timestamps added, unless it doesn't get logged in the chat logs anymore.
because every time the ENM gets brought up some dipshit tells everyone to use apradar it makes it omgeasy, i say that it's unnecessary and breaks tos and explain they have fixed spawnpoints and you can still win without it, other dipshits use apradar anyway thinking it's 100% safe >_> I'm not saying it isn't safe or that it's the reason this is happening to people, but it's still dumb to use a 3pp for something that's easy enough you don't need it anyway.
My group doesn't use it, and we win every time. Gets a bit hairy if we manage to find all three of the fake ants since I'm the only sleeper, but we get it done.
Wouldn't surprise me at all, that's why I was pointing at the, "We're now looking for certain behavior patterns," thing in the banstick notes. Basically, it means they've stopped trying to catch people doing something that's obviously illegal (poshacking), and are looking for people that are way outside a statistical average.
E.g. if one person claims fafnir for a month straight, they're extremely likely to to be doing something illicit. If someone always goes straight for the correct antlion every time for 3-4 runs, they've got a way to see it.
More specifically, I'm 90% sure that the first level mamool ja assault (rescue the imperial prisoner one) was actually a honeypot for poshackers.
I've misstyped "load/unload" commands into PT chat while with JPs quiet often. Most I ever got out of them was "www"
