Salvage Questions

How does your group decide which Area and NM they are doing on a daily basis. Right now we lot everyday and that person is eliminated until everyone has gone. We have 8 people so this means everyone get 2 turns a month to do their run since we go 3x a week.

Is there a better method? How do you do it?

My shell goes 3x a week. We pics zone/nm path based on who has the least amount of 35's. We do 2 runs to focus on those people. 3rd run is almost always Arrapago.

I've always done have everyone say what drops they want and we focus the most on the zones with the most 35 drops needed, but throw in some of the others every once in awhile too. Once we get a 35 we focus on the zones that drop the 25 and 15 while killing NMs for other 35s. If someone has not gotten a piece in awhile we do that persons zone for awhile to be fair.

I just pick Silver Sea every time and people are happy with that.

However, this is after many months of going and being essentially finished with other zones. Previously it was based on what items people wanted, and how many items they had already finished. So, a person who had few or no items finished would see the zones they were wanting drops from more often than those with more items finished.

I really like this idea but what you do when you have 5 people with nothing.

This. We usually spam Arrapago because QQTH is a goddamn whore but we've started splitting up and low-manning zones based on other 35s people need. I don't mind doing any zone to be honest, as long as they save a tag and do RvB with me. :D

A friend used to lead a group that would do three runs a week, so each week, they'd concentrate on one zone. 3x SSR, 3x Arrapago, 3x Bhaflau, 3x Zhayolm, repeat. It was easier to keep track of who wanted what on a weekly basis. Also, I think he said something about how doing one run per week helped them focus a bit more, like, they got better at the zone itself as a group.

Seemed like a pretty good way to do it to me, and you can pretty much just decide to do them in alphabetical order, and no one will bitch about why certain zones were being done (in theory, because they'd understand the rotation).

This works if you have a website to use. Set up a poll for the 4 zones, let the members choose where they want to go. It has worked out great for my group. That way there is no one to blame what zones we do. This isn't the most full proof way of doing it but it lets them decide where they want to go, not one person.

How i do mine (aka i'm the group leader)

At first i do easy run like SSR.

Then i base my runs on who is 2/3 or who miss what

Like since we started a MNK got 0 drop and want his boots bad, so i promised him 1 SSR boss per week for his boots.

Like now i'm 2/3 on legs nad head, so doing more Zhayolm and Arrapago.

Gonna do more bhaflau soon cuz someone is 2/3 on morrigans

anyway i mostly base my run to finish people piece!

We followed a similar pattern to what Aksannyi said, back when our group had just started we'd just go 2xArra this week, 2xSSR next week, 2xBhaf the week after etc. etc. We didn't have any kind of set pattern though, Wafik just kinda called zones on weekly basis until we started to cap out on most wanted drops in each zone.

Now that it's been a year we're just doing SSR week after week....

Anyone complete Ares Body? Wondering how long I am looking at before I can complete that piece if I go towards it 2x a month.

Cycle through the zones, clockwise. We'd end up doing SS and Powderkeg every day for 1.2 billion years if people could choose. Even if you say "can't do the same zone twice in a row," it's still ZoneX>SS>ZoneX>SS because Silver Sea silver sucks. Drop a zone from circulation when you max out on drops.

You don't plan to complete a piece from Salvage. Salvage will tell you when you can complete it. You just have to keep showing up to hear the call.

See sig, been doing salvage twice a week since it came out and I finally finished my body a few weeks ago. Some people go 1/1, some go 1/10, some go 1/100. I went 1/1 on the mask 35 so karma tends to come around. I would say expect a few months; Alma's quote if pretty accurate.

If you have a MNK/SAM/PUP/NIN aiming for Usukane body, expect to start having giant turtles haunt your dreams. If you have two aiming for it, start preparing noose materials now.

Also, the way I run my group is like someone said on an earlier post. See who has the least 35s and plan runs focusing on those pieces + whatever else you can squeeze in that could benefit someone else as well.

Right now we're focusing on ares body/usu pants/usu head/morrigan slops 35s and usu feet 25 so we're alternating between SSR and Arrapagay.

Everyone in my group has a ratio of attendance/armor. I usually pick the zone based on what the person with the highest ratio needs. This keeps everyone pretty close in the amount of armor they achieve per number of runs. However, salvage does have its ways of fucking people over by dropping every 35 but the one you want so ya..
