Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike (Online for PC)

Not very good but I'm interested in playing, what exactly do I need to get this running? No idea what I'm doing when it comes to MAME ROMs.

GGPO.net. Download the program. Run ggpofba or w/e it is to generate a ROMs folder.

Google sfiii3.zip and put it in the Roms folder (The correct size should be somewhere between 63~128 mbs I guess).

Download sfiii3n.zip on the link up there.

Open ports 6000-6009 UDP and 7000 TCP.

Fire it up and you're good to go.

That always happens when you join in to spec. The background graphics refresh after the next match though.

I'm having trouble connecting to games. I have the correct ports forwarded.

My guess is that Rutgers University doesn't allow this sort of thing. If this is the case, I will have to play you on weekends when I'm home.

I'm definitely game though when I get the chance.

Charismatic, if you own a PS3 (since it's directional pad is great for fighting games imo), you can easily connect it to your PC and play games with it.

I figure it should. It detected my 360 controller without any sort of extra configuration but I can't actually confirm it'll work with an arcade stick.

as long as you have a driver for it, arcade sticks will work fine.

as far as lag goes, its noticeable when ping is +100

Basically, it's like I've already said... I don't have anything that I could use other than my keyboard.
Please trust me in that that I know what I currently have around the house will not work.

I've already decided that I'm just going to practice up and get better with the keyboard.

As already said, with a driver it works but yes, I'm using a Hori stick (the 360 DOA USB stick), and it works perfectly fine. I have pretty good precision. If I can land crouching MK => Kikoken LP => Super Arts with Chun, then the response time is good in my book.

The only problem I'm really having is that Rutgers University isn't allowing me to join games, only spectate. I can't really figure out how to fix this...the ports are open on the router. I definitely think it is a problem on my end though. I am now no longer able to perform searches in DC++, something I could always do before except when my firewall is turned up really high. Fixing the firewall does nothing though, so now... I am confused.

Anyone know how to check to see if something is blocking my connections?
