    ePSXe and pSX are the best emulators. ePSXe is a bit of a pain to initially set up, but it has better compatibility for most stuff. You'll have the find the .iso's yourself though, Romulation.net has them but unless you have an account on there and have had it for a while you won't have enough "points" to download it.

    I had the PSOne when I played FF8. I know for a fact I had that cut scene. Never played it on the old school brick console, though.

    huge list of original ps roms only downside is most of the links are megaupload or rapidshare, so if you don't have an account you can expect to take a long time downloading some of them.

    I've played 8 on the brick PS1 and the new style PS1... no difference. In fact the brick died mid-way through VIII and I ended up running out to the mall the following day to pick up a new-style PS1 to finish up the game.

    Not the fat PS1 vs slim. It was a digital video recorder that used the PS2's hardware (so played PS1 and PS2 games).
