I think it has to do with the fact that the media was really hyping up LeBron vs Kobe, and since that did not happen, there is less Buzz for the Finals and people are just not caring as much. What's funny is that the LeBron/Kobe Nike Puppet commercial aired a few times during Game 1. Speaking of LeBron maybe I am late but it appears that the NBA fined him 25k for skipping the press conference. What makes it really sad is that LeBron (Who just had surgery to remove a growth in his jaw) issued a statement thru the Commissioner to the fans apologizing. Honestly, that is a bad move because I think if he is going to do any type of apologizing, it should come straight from him and not someone else.

Mostly only Lakers and Magic fans will watch. Nobody likes the Lakers, mostly because of Kobe. The only reason to watch would be to see the Lakers lose, which isnt happening this year. So that is why nobody will watch. I will watch because I love basketball.

The game's ratings was apparently on par with Lakers vs Celtics game 1 until the blowout started and everything went to hell for ABC after that.

So I wouldn't say nobodies interested, they just thought it would be a more competitive series which will be more likely in game 2 and so on.

Have to give props to Bynum/Gasol/Odom though, they really shut down Dwight although fouling him a bunch of times.

And Stan Van Gundy is a idiot if he thinks guarding Kobe one on one with a mediocre defender is a good idea with such high stakes. I haven't seen Kobe attack the inside so much since 24 year old Kobe, dude was making circus shots and getting and 1s.

Last night drew a 9.4 share on network TV for a total of 9.4 million viewers. Games 5 of the ECF drew a 6.3 share for a total of 10.075 viewers on TNT, Game 6, also on TNT, drew a 6.2 rating for 9.995 million viewers.
