I don't know why Lebron would move from one mediocre team to another? One would think he wants to actually win a ring, unless he's just in it for the bright lights.

It's all about the supporting cast. Lebron's got shit in Cleveland right now. Maybe he'll see the nucleus the knicks have two years from now (and the two lottery players they'll be drafting) and consider joining.

Shoot for the sky and you'll land among the stars.

    Notable 2010 Unrestricted Free Agents:

    Joe Johnson
    Lebron James
    Dirk Nowitzki
    Tracy McGrady
    Yao Ming (Player Option)
    Marcus Camby
    Dwayne Wade
    Michael Redd
    Tyson Chandler (PO)
    Peja Stojakovic (PO)
    Steve Nash
    Amare Stoudemire (PO)
    Chris Bosh

With the money the knicks are saving, they'll be able to sign 2 players at max deals. Say they don't get Lebron, they'll still have a chance to bring in 2 other (super)stars. Or even better, Lebron can sign after the Knicks ink a deal with someone he would prefer to play with like Bosh/Wade.

Yeah they were talkin about signing bosh and Le'Bron as targets, they'll be able to afford both and have a good supporting cast, that's gunna be an intresting summer.

Except D'antoni will still be the coach and he doesn't play defense which will = coming short of a championship every year.

Mike D'Antoni no longer gets a "D" in his name because he refuses to play it. Therefore he is known as Mike 'Antoni, courtesy of basketbawful.

I don't think the Knicks are worried about the championship at this point ;o When D'Antoni gets them to the point where they're contending team, they can fire him and get a championship coach.

Coming short of the championship > Coming short of landing the #1 pick every year.

    ?

If you spent all your money acquiring Bosh and Lebron I would hope you wouldn't be close to getting the #1 pick every year.

^ this is pretty much it. The Knicks are banking on the fact that Lebron wants to play in a big market like NY. Detroit made some moves to clear up space for 2010 and they clearly have a better nucleus.....but yes, if the Knicks can dump Curry, they'll have room to sign two max contracts.

I'm saying the situation you noted with D'Antoni is better than the situation the Knicks have been in for the past 8 years.

Sort of off topic, where's the best place to buy NBA tickets? Craigslist, Stubhub, Ebay, or something else? Looking to get tickets for xmas day.
