Let me explain a little thing about your average homer. They look at the jersey of their favorite team and try to find any excuse to like the player wearing it. Your average homer couldn't give a shit about the players they're rooting for as long as said player does a good job representing their team, and are usually oblivious to any negative characteristic said player may possess. Furthermore, they usually don't even care enough about the sport to really seek out any disparaging truths about said player.

In this case, you (a laker homer) are looking at Pau Gasol (a wild emu) and are forcing yourself to believe that he is "cute". When in fact, women rarely refer to grown men that they're truly attracted to as "cute".
