Ex-NBA player Blount arrested on drug count

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP)—Former NBA basketball player Corie Blount has been charged with picking up 11 pounds of marijuana in southwest Ohio.

Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones said after the 39-year-old Blount retrieved the package from a Liberty Township address on Thursday, deputies followed him to his home nearby and arrested him. Jones said officers found another 11 pounds of marijuana inside Blount’s house.

Blount was charged with felony drug possession. He was released from custody on $10,090 bond.

The center on Cincinnati’s Final Four team in 1992, Blount went on to an 11-year NBA career that included stints with the Chicago Bulls, L.A. Lakers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors.

By the way whats with the technical fouls for hanging on the rim recently. I've only seen it twice, once on Bynum a few days ago and today on Oden. I mean it's not like they hang on it for very long and if anything it delays the guy who just dunked it to getting back on defense.

They recovered yesterday to squeak out a road win against a decent Toronto team.

The thing that impresses me most about this Blazer team is that they have played less than one-third of their games at home (7 home, 15 road) and have a higher opponents' winning percentage than any other team in the league with a winning record. Road wins against Orlando and Detroit are a sign of a growing team.

While they clearly aren't in the same league as the Lakers or Celtics (maybe Cavs?), this Thursday's game at Utah should be a good barometer of whether or not they should be able to compete with everyone else in the West.
