That wasnt a foul, Manu was just standing there in his spot and Ariza jumped into him. I did enjoy the Lakers getting all cocky like they won, then watching Kobe cry afterwards.
It really was a fantastic game.
Manu's 3 at the end of the the 3rd quarter was Epic!
We'll see when the replays come out, and if I were you I wouldn't be so cocky about your team right now. The Lakers have shown that they can come back against the Spurs under pretty much any deficit even with their thinned back court...this is without them playing their swarm defense that they showed in the first few games of the season.
The Lakers took out the Spurs in 5....and even if the refs called that it would have been at most a overtime call. Secondly the refs also fucked up on a call a few seconds before that where the lakers took a shot which replays showed hit the rim but the refs didn't reset the clock. If they called it correctly you wouldn't even be complaining about the last shot right now.
Your also forgetting it was a even year, Spurs can't win back to back remember? they don't even count as a dynasty.
As much as I can't stand Kobe, that Tanaka reference was pretty funny. Made me smile even more when they lost. It really was a fantastic game despite the few no calls etc. Can't make them all and you just have to play through it.
that was BS! Ariza didn't travel!
Kobe is scary good, but he has no class. Slapping the towel out of a kids hand was very shitty. I'm glad he got to eat his own Huevos Grande at the end of the game. Watch out when the Spurs pick up Travis Outlaw too.
What is with lebron and trying to be a basketball player and a football player at the same time. It's already obvious that hes doing it but they act like its some big secret.
The dude is annoying, the way he behaves with knick trade rumors and this dual sports thing, he acts like the world is hanging on his every word. Maybe a concussion while playing football will set him straight.
Lakers fans don't get to bitch about shitty no calls near the end of games with the Spurs. If you're calling one for Ariza, you have to call one 12 seconds earlier for Duncan. Anyway, Ariza was out of control, Kobe had no business ever passing that ball.
Yeah and if Kobe had shot that ball he would have been seen as a ball hog.
Doesn't matter anyway, a wrong call is still a call but its ridiculous that there were so many ref calls in the final seconds of the game. There use to be a given rule that towards the end of the game, refs would swallow the whistle on most fouls, which clearly wasn't the case yesterday.
The miles situation hurts the Blazers cap space plan for next offseason. Instead of 18-19 million in cap space, Miles playing for another team dwindles it down to 9-10 million. Grizzlies playing Miles might make Portland do a mid season trade for a good PG or SF.
I don't see Spurs offering anything Portland wants outside of Tony Parker.
amidst from all this laker/spurs talk. how about cp3 murdering the mavs? =p
Bayless. anyone see the nets game? if not check the highlights for him. and let it be known hes here!
if anything now we need a consolidation of what we have and get a good PF for aldridge maybe a SF but i like batum way too much he just needs to get the hang of NBA game hes got the potential to be something awesome against the lakers he was 100% on everything iirc.
i had high hopes for bayless out of the draft. glad he's finally getting some burn. hope he gets to prove that he can play in the league.
No suspension for Smith in feud with Cuban
DENVER (AP)—The NBA said Thursday that Denver Nuggets guard J.R. Smith won’t be suspended for throwing an elbow that angered Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.
The excitable owner might still face punishment for going onto the court to voice his displeasure with Smith.
NBA spokesman Tim Frank told The Associated Press on Thursday that Smith has been cleared of any wrongdoing and “Cuban is still being reviewed.”
Cuban took offense when Smith threw an elbow that barely missed Mavericks forward Antoine Wright late in the first half of Dallas’ game at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday night.
As the teams walked off for halftime, Cuban came onto the court and hollered at Smith, which in turn angered Nuggets coach George Karl.
Cuban said Wright could have been severely injured and that he was going to ask the league to suspend Smith.
Karl was OK with Cuban’s stance but took exception to him calling out a player from an opposing team.
“Stay away from my players, stay off the court, don’t get involved,” Karl told reporters at practice the day after the incident. “If you want to interact, interact with the league office and interact with your own players, but don’t mess with my players. There’s no room for it.
“If this was a normal fan, he would have been banned from the building and maybe not ever let back in the game,” Karl said. “When the game starts, he is a fan. After the game, he’s an owner, but during the game, he’s a fan.”
The Mavs are starting to fall apart like the Cowboys.
