I am from an hour south of Boston. I cannot stand the red sox fans, dont mind the red sox. I dont align myself with a particular team in football and root for who is/was on my fantasy team. I always loved ray allen on the bucks and sonics and KG on the wolves, when they joined the Celtics, I became a bandwagon fan. They could have joined the Grizzlies for all I care and I would like them. But i digress.

Boston is, by far, the biggest bandwagon town I have ever seen in my life. It has spread across three sports. The town was the lovable loser with mediocre fan base, remnants from the 80s Celtics and good but non-champion red sox teams, until the damn Pats won. The the Sox. Then the Celtics. Now its one big obnoxious bandwagon town.

However, to their sad and depraved credit, it has definitely been easier to be a Laker fan than a Celtic fan. For years the celtics were run like a circus, and despite one late post season run with pierce and antoine the slug walker, the team has been atrocious since bird left. Granted, 12 years elapsed between Magic's last one and Kobe's first, but damn, at least Kobe arrived in 96, and when the Zilla came later on, they just dominated.

Thus, as far as basketball goes, shed a little sympathy for the pathetic boston area up until last year. it was really, really bad. that being said, only a biased boston fan will loathe the lakers. the showtime lakers were, in my opinion, the most entertaining team ever, with the kobe and shaq era a second. as a bandwagon boston fan, i hope for celtics-lakers finals, and while i root for KG and ray-ray, i would have really no problem with kobe getting his 4th. i just love b-ball.

Jameer Nelson is out for the season?

Thats gotta suck seeing how he was a all star reserve and his team had a chance of winning the Eastern conference.

Uh.. I have no hate for the Lakers. I'm just pointing out facts. Are you going to tell me that the Lakers had a stout D with Bynum, and that they were the best team by far in the NBA or something? If so, you're blind. D: Bynum is a nice defensive player and better than Gasol, but really.. that's not saying much. The Lakers still gave up a ton of points already, but can actually outscore them. I'm not saying their D is like.. the Warriors or Nuggets or anything, but it's not Cleveland/Boston defense.

Yeah.....I don't know where your getting this from but I never said the Lakers have the best defense in the league or anything like that. I said the Lakers only play good defense when they are playing top tier teams.

When they play lesser teams they tend to focus more on their fast pace offense and play average defense. In these types of games the Lakers score faster which gives the ball back to the opposing team faster, which is why the score vs these teams are always so bloated.

and I didn't say you said they had the best defense. It was more of a "Please tell me you don't think that "soandso"" sort of thing. Sorry if you misunderstood.

But yeah, I'd look at the Knicks game as "We just gave up 116 points to the Knicks in regulation."

Yeah like I said, nobody ever mentioned Lakers having the best defense in the league so I don't see why you would assume I thought that.

And we're talking about two teams here who love to run and gun here, so I don't see why your all hung up on the magnitude of the score here.

EDIT: Also the score was actually much further apart then it looks, by mid 4th quarter Lakers were leading by about 20ish points so the reserves came out and the game went into garbage time.

Anyway Defense isn't judged by PPG its by FG% and the Knicks FG was .441 and .259 in 3pters

44% FG is pretty average, and 25% 3PT is below average, but eh. They still get scored on, and that's my point.

remember how many points lakers gave up when kobe got his 81?

    who gives a flying fuck

the story of that game against the knicks is kobe's scoring rampage, in a game they won by a comfortable margin. For a fan with no bias, this is good and entertaining basketball. Only a laker hater or someone on their coaching staff would actually pick those bones and bitch about the points they gave up, and i'm pretty sure you are not the ladder

so get real or get out

So when the Cavs went on that 15 game tear where they didn't win a game by less than 10 points, it meant nothing right?

I MEAN WHO CARES ABOUT DEFENSE, OFFENSE IS THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS (UNTIL THE FINALS) AMIRITE?

I'm suprised a D'Antoni coached team let a player score that many points. He always preaches Defense first.

Sunday is Spurs vs. Celtics. Going to be epic!

I really hate Lebron vs Kobe comparisons that the press always tries to push but this was pretty cool. When was the last time you had 2 superstars go off on the same team within a few days of eachother.

I can't believe I have to miss the Lakers vs Celtics game tomorrow because of class. Why did they have to make it on the beginning of a double header and why schedule it on a Thursday, damn NBA scheduler people.

And maybe the NBA scheduler people do this for every team but what is with them putting top tier teams on the bottom end of a Lakers back to back.

I think what Lebron did was more impressive. The Knicks knew he was going to do something, and they couldnt stop him from getting 52 and a triple double. Kobe surprise Buttsexed them with only a couple more points than Lebron.
