Like I told Aki, Howard should've bounced it off the 10-foot hoop and dunked on the 12-foot for his last dunk. =\ His last one needed to be more than a straight dunk - should've windmilled that shit.

Every player who classifies himself as a superstar needs to get their ass in there. The dunk contest/3 point contest should be a right of passage to becoming a true superstar in the league. Unless of course your just unable to jump that high or can't shoot aka rondo/parker type point guards which I guess is what the skills contest is for.
Kobe should join too! A wade, kobe, lebron slam dunk contest would be insane.

Kobe still does some nice dunks but hes too old now he would get killed vs wade and lebron, plus he won the one in 1997.

What he should join is the horse competition. I mean the one yesterday was one lame ass contest, none of the contestants had a ounce of personality or creativity.

A Nash, Kobe and ......Wade? horse competition would be ridiculous.

Well I don't know whos suppose to make the final decision on this stuff but it was definitely Stern's doing.

Although both these guys did have a good game so you can't really argue that it was a rip off either.

Nah. Plus.. it's the All-Star MVP? Who really cares all that much as long as they had fun? I had a lot of fun tonight watching Shaq and Kobe play together. I'm not a Lakers fan (I'm really not a fan of any team in the NBA), but it was awesome seeing them together. Shaq's pass through the legs of Dwight Howard to CP3 (and the look on Howard's face) was just priceles, and then he finished the dunk. That was great.

The MVP is probably a product of them knowing it's Shaq's last All-Star game most likely, so it was a respect game. That, and Kobe got a share because he had a pretty awesome game, though taking ten shots in the first quarter? Was a little odd, lol.

Anyway, despite the score being 146-119.. the game was entirely entertaining.

I was talking to someone at work about the All-Star voting, he said that having big people like Shaq, Yao, and Duncan was bad cause the are slow and unathletic. I thought he was dumb, still do. But I thought about what he said as I watched Yao Ming play. Jesus he sucked, and I kind of started to see what he was talking about. Then Joe Johnson and Shaq happend.

I enjoyed the whole weekend and watched every event, even the celebrity game lol.

What does Joe Johnson have to do with big men? He's not exactly a Yao Ming or Shaq in terms of "big men" o.o I think he's like 6'7"

Compared to the slow 7 footers, Joe Johnson is one of the "athletic" type players that he talking about. And he didnt do anything.

    I agree.

I also liked the pass between Dwight Howard's legs.

Source: Sacramento Kings agree to trade for Bostons Celtics' Sam Cassell - ESPN

Why the hell would a team make a trade like this? They're basically just getting money for a draft pick, since Cassell is expected to be waived. I could understand the Celtics' side of it, but damn why would the Kings take that offer just to toss the assets to the waiver wire?

    Also I saw this earlier:
Chad Ford: What to expect as trade deadline nears - ESPN

Big names on there - Portland is looking really hard at Gerald Wallace; the Nets and Rockets are looking to trade McGrady for Vince Carter etc; Knicks could do a deal to send Nate Robinson and Jared Jeffries etc to the Kings for Brad Miller etc; and the Heat might want either Raymond Felton or Kyle Lowry for Daequan Cook

I'd actually be surprised if Portland was able to pull off what the page is talking about (Trail Blazers send Raef LaFrentz, Sergio Rodriguez and Nicolas Batum to the Bobcats for Gerald Wallace and Sean May) but it'd make them more of a contender in the west imo if it happens.

edit: more trade stuff - Sources: New Orleans Hornets close to unloading Tyson Chandler
Basically just a trade done for financial reasons from what "sources" say. I'm curious as to how this is going to affect the Hornets' playoff positioning. I could see it hurting their chances, since they'll end up being one of the few contenders in the west without a great big man in the middle (even though Chandler wasn't exactly a Howard to begin with).

Those are some big trades.....but seriously why would you trade E.T isn't he about to retire anyway?

He's as close to retired as possible I think. Hasn't even played in a game the entire year despite being on the team

A second round pick for Cassell at this point in his career is a great move by the Celtics. As much as I hate to say it, Sam doesn't offer much to them anymore.

If we lose Nate Robinson I'm going to be pissed. David Lee and Nate are keeping me afloat (fan wise) this season.

The Heat trade for Raymond Felton would be really nice for them I think. The Heat should throw Quinn in that trade too. Just because be sucks.

They usually bring him out during the playoffs but I would think the only reason hes even still active is because he wants another championship ring, otherwise he would just retire.

So unless the Kings do waive him and the Celtics decide not to add another player to their roster then I guess he would go back. Either way this is a stupid deal.

It just pisses me off that my team is throwing away draft picks for essentially just cash. It was definitely a great move for the Celtics though, since they basically just lose a voice in the locker room for a body in next year's locker room.

There was some talk about David Lee being traded too, but I really doubt they'll get rid of both of those guys. From what I've seen, losing both of them would take just about all the life out of the team, because they'd only have Harrington and Duhon to fall back on basically

Lol Harrington or Duhon. Duhon is OK at best and Harrington can eat a peen. Not to mention Duhon is a damn Dook. I miss the days when they had Mark Jackson AND Rod Strickland on the same team and also loathed them when they had Marbury and Francis in the backcourt. All I know is that trading Lee away would be silly.
