fucking hate utah
fucking hate utah
mavs did it!
Final push for the playoffs and the Western Conference is tight as hell again with exception to the Lakers.
I figure either the Mavs or the Suns aren't going to make the playoffs. No offense to either team but they're not what they use to be.
Kid got owned lol, even though I hate the celtics this is funny stuff

I don't think the Mavericks want the Lakers. Kobe has a history of doing extremely well vs the Mavericks (e.g. outscoring the entire Mavericks team by himself in 3 quarters then resting the rest of the game)
Honestly I think if the Western Conference wants to take out the Lakers they need to put the 2nd best team in the 8th seed spot. Bynum is going to be rusty as hell since according to reports hes going to be ready right before the playoffs and Gasol is going to be tired from playing so many minutes.
With 2.2 seconds left in the third quarter and the Lakers down by 28, Trevor Ariza takes out Rudy Fernandez as he goes in for an easy layup, laying him out under the backboard. A bunch of posturing, Ariza gets ejected, and Lamar Odom comes off the bench to throw his weight around. No punches thrown, although 3 technicals and a flagrant foul get called. Rudy Fernandez gets taken off the court in a backboard.
Although the game is over for all intents and purposes, Odom's going to have a suspension coming up for coming off the bench. That was dumb.
Portland has beaten the Lakers six (make it seven barring giving up a 28 point fourth quarter lead) times in a row in Portland, and a lot of long term success. Even with home court, I don't think the Lakers want to play the Blazers in the playoffs if they can avoid it.
Ariza tried to block it in frustration and missed, because he was in the air he fell in a fucked up way. I won't disagree with you that's a flagrant 2 since the NBA gives flagrant 2s on those fouls on a regular basis.
Odom was dumb enough to get up from the bench yes, but if your teammate is being attacked by 3 trailblazers a foot away from you I doubt you would be sitting in your seat too.
And lol at Lakers not wanting to see portland in the playoffs.
A Spurs fan crying dirty foul.....
hahahahhaha
Yeah, it hurts that we can't win in Portland but that doesn't make the Blazers suck any less. Ariza is probably the biggest boyscout on the Lakers and that foul was accidental. I do agree that Lamar should have kept his ass on the bench though.
I'm not saying the Blazers would have much chance at winning a full series, but the way the Lakers play in Portland, I could see a hard fought 6 or 7 game series with a lot of emotion -- suspensions, fights, injuries, etc. The two teams simply don't like each other, and neither one can win on the other one's home court for shit.
Do the Lakers really want to see that series, followed immediately up by a series against the Spurs, a team who might be well rested who actually has the chance to beat them? I think the Lakers would rather have a team they own, both home and away. That's all I'm saying. I see that as about the only way the Lakers don't make the NBA finalls -- get beat up and worn out by a lesser team right before playing the Spurs.
I didn't see the foul as dirty so much as careless. I didn't see Ariza gunning for Rudy's head, so much as going for the ball and being careless because they were down by 28. They're not used to that. Flagrant 2, yes. I don't think it's suspension worthy, unless he has a long history of doing shit like this.Originally Posted by Dimmauk
Let's be serious here, if you really are THAT appalled by the foul by Ariza like you stated above then there would be no way in hell you would be a Spurs fan.
Also everyone here agreed that the foul was a flagrant 2, nobody else besides you thought it should warrant a suspension.
Stop being a idiot.
To Byrd: I'll agree with you about the 6-7 games in the playoffs based on yesterdays play but then again the regular season is a whole different animal than the playoffs so I doubt the whole regular season "curse" for both teams will apply.
Anyway I hope Rudy's injury was nothing serious, he didn't deserve it.
Lets just hope on Thursday, Kobe isnt going for a break-away dunk with a Spurs bench player running after him. I would hate to see Kobe or any of the Lakers get hurt. I know if it was Kobe that got hurt that way, Lakers fans would be out of their minds, and someone would get suspended.
You know when someone feels threatened when they start wishing injuries on the other team.
That's very true, and Portland certainly doesn't have any playoff experience whatsoever -- I can't recall a single active player on the roster who has played a single NBA playoff game (there might be some deep on the bench). I still think the Lakers would rather not see the Blazers right before the Spurs, if they had their druthers, though.
Other than the Lakers, and to some extent the Spurs, the west is ridiculously tight. 3 games separate 3rd from 8th, and the Spurs are only 1 1/2 up on 3rd. After the Lakers, and the Spurs to some extent, I think any of the teams 3-8 (Houston, Utah, Portland, Denver, New Orleans, Dallas) could beat any of the other 6, depending on home court and other minutiae.
As a fan of a team who hasn't been involved in a playoff race in several years, and not involved in a playoff race with a team that you can actually feel good about rooting for over a decade, it's pretty exciting seeing that every game matters.
