Great game last night! The Spurs had a shitty 1st quarter and had to play from behind the whole game. The Lakers killed the Spurs in the 1st half on Off.Rebounds and Turnovers. If the Spurs play the whole game like they played in the 2nd half, then the Lakers will have a tough time beating the Spurs. I was happy to see Finley play well too. There arent many teams that can come back against the Lakers like the Spurs did.

We will see you bitches in the Playoffs, hopefully both teams will be healthy.

    Good to hear Rudys ok

I kind of wish someone in a playoff team would call themselves the "Kobe Stopper" again like when Ruben Patterson did it a few years ago, that was some hilarious stuff.

Batum's a good defender though, you want Walton for him? haha

Most Improved Player: Devin Harris / Danny Granger
Rookie of the Year: Derrick Rose
Coach of the Year: Stan Van Gundy (maybe)

why? because hes putting up big numbers?

Wades putting up 29 something points a game, in Kobe's 2005-2006 season he had a 35.4 ppg season. Both players had about the same crappy supporting cast that year, so Wade is basically having his version of a 2005-2006 Kobe season, with 6 points less ppg.

The 2005-2006 Lakers and this years Heat are borderline winning record teams. Nash won it that year, because of his team's winning record.

If we were to base the MVP on individual scoring records then yeah Wade would win but we're not so maybe you should be smoking more of what I'm smoking.

Nobody but you wants smoke Kobe's dick.

Also Pop should get Coach of the Year. With all the injuries the Spurs have had and new players, and still have the 2nd best team in the West, that is good coaching.

MVP: Kobe/LeBron/Wade (I really like D. Wade this year, but I can see how LeBron could win it.)
6th man of the year: Nate Robinson's been a beast.
Defensive Player of the Year: Dwight Howard
Most Improved Plyaer: Danny Granger's been great, but Marvin Williams has also been a HUGE improvement down in Atlanta
Rookie of the Year: Derrick Rose or OJ Mayo, though I'm sure Rose will get it, especially if the Bulls somehow make it to the playoffs
Coach of the year: I actually like Greg Popovich here for what he's done without having the full "Big 3" available to him during most of the season. Stan Van Gundy is definitely in the conversation though.

I've liked Popovich since the Lakers first started playing the Spurs in the playoffs, he's more of a player's coach in that he will joke with you while telling you what to do. He always has good things to say about his opponents too which is cool for a coach.

I think up until Jameer Nelson went down and the Magic started dropping games, Stan Van Gundy was the clear cut choice for coach of the year. Now that they are still good but not spectacular with Rafer Alston I think he's dropped off a bit.

Coach of the year is gonna come down between Jerry Sloan, Popovich and Stan Van Gundy, whoever wins of the three won't be bad choices.

MVP: I'm the biggest Kobe fan in the world, but how the fuck can anyone say anything BUT Lebron. Wade's team is too shit for him to merit consideration; look the MVP winners from the last 20 years or so.
    6th Man: Nate Robinson
    DPoY: Dwight Howard
    Most Improved: Devin Harris
RoY: Russell Westbrook (wait the Bulls play the Thunder in a few weeks)
Coach of the Year: I think Stan will get it, though Poppo deserves it. Pop and Sloan are in the same boat here. They're just so consistently good that voters will never notice when they out do themselves (refer to Phil Jackson's performance in LA in 2005-2007 when the Lakers started Kwame, Smush, and Luke Walton and still made the playoffs in the West)

Lebron has had a awesome season I won't deny that, in fact I'm pretty sure no matter what he's going to win it this year. The problem is that the majority of his MVP performances were on lower tier teams, I've yet to see the guy elevate his team against championship caliber teams.

Cleveland got swept in the season series vs the Lakers, won one vs Boston when they were in a slump, lost the other 2 including the one a few days ago where Garnett was out injured.

Lost to Orlando, won one vs the Spurs then got shutdown vs Houston a week ago vs Artest and Battier with 0 assists to his teammates.

They still have one more game vs Boston and I think another with Orlando (without Jameer Nelson), if he can give MVP performances in these games then he will definitely have the MVP clinched.

And I really don't care about Kobe getting another MVP, would rather see the Lakers get the O'brien trophy.

The difference between those teams is that the Lakers didn't win 15 games the season prior to that one. Without Wade, the Heat earned the 2nd overall pick in the draft. With him, they have a shot at home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. There isn't a player more valuable to his team than Dwyane Wade.

Career high today for Trevor Ariza vs Dallas. I do believe he is going to blossom as a starter. I just wish the Lakers wouldn't turn into little girls against the zone.

Honestly I would agree with you but historically that's just not how MVPs are decided.

If it was, Jordan would have had a couple of MVPs pre championship years and Kobe would probably have 2 by now.

So your logic is, if there are other good players on a team besides the super star, that super star is suddenly a lesser player or no longer as valuable to the team.
