Artest wont be suspended, Fisher will, and so will Alston. Kobe has gotten away with murder this series. Two games, and two major cheap shots, and nothing was done. Watching Kobe and Lebron there are two major differences, Lebron doesnt run around all game talking shit to people. Yeah, its part of the game, and some use it to get into the game, but it looks bad.

I wonder if Lakers fan will "Lose all respect" for Derek Fisher like they did when Horry knocked Nash down. Its the same fucking foul, only difference is the jerseys.

I was really dissapointed about Wafer, the Rockets really could have used his energy. I wonder what they were arguing about.

As much as I think Kobe is the best, I want the Rockets to win the series because it's awesome to see new teams advance. Too bad T-mac isn't healthy. :\

Fuck Rondo.. he's not supposed to be good. Since the Pistons are out I'm cheering for the Magic.

Just think if Yao didn't get in foul trouble playing only 26 minutes, and Artest didn't get prematurely thrown out.
Just trying to live up to the standard of what was effectively "Gosh if the Rockets hadn't lost the game, just think what would have happened!"

    Spine tingling! I got chills.

So... are you trying to say that if Yao didn't have 3 fouls with six minutes in the first half, it still wouldn't have made a difference in the outcome? You could say the same thing about Kobe and game one. If Kobe didn't start off shooting poorly in the first half and was on fire like in Game 2.. they could have won that game.

Using 'what-ifs', especially when logical isn't that big of a deal.

Still, you're not contributing to the thread at all. If anything, you're picking shit out that I say to piss me off or bait me, though I know you wouldn't do that intentionally. We just won't agree on the current situation. Heck, if the Lakers lose, I won't call you out on it or requote you. If they win, it'd be expected, so..whatever. =P

The thing is that Yao's foul troubles weren't some act of God, Phil specifically coached towards it, as Kaeko pointed out.

And it's should be no surprise that year after year Kobe gets away with shit that is never called by refs. Tough. Complaining about it this playoff season is going to get your team as far as it got other teams the last few times the Lakers blew by them in the playoffs. Just as it should be no shocking development when Ron "I punch fans" Artest gets ejected for jawing off too long at the refs in a playoff game. The officiating didn't score the 71 points that the rest of the team contributed to the win.

The series is shaping up into the usual Lakers playoff series, as games between them and the Celtics/Spurs/what have you were equally physical and full of bullshit calls on both sides.

I never meant to say Yao's foul troubles were an act of god or anything. Foul troubles plague big Centers all the time. My only thought was that it would've been a totally different game if Yao wouldn't have had to play in short spurts due to the fouls. :/

I do agree about Kobe getting some benefit of the doubt, and Artest getting zero benefit due to his reputation. I do personally think his ejection was reputation based. I doubt Kobe would get suspended for a game for the elbow, I don't think Artest will get suspended, but I think Fisher and Alston will both get suspended.

And yeah, I don't mind that either. I love physical, hard faught out games. Please don't give us a 4-0/4-1 series like the Cleveland/Atlanta series will be.

Also, I'm gonna get a jump early and apologize Correction for taking what you said too seriously. I'm sure it was all in good fun. My bad dood.

It's the playoffs. If shit-talk in sports threads during the playoffs weren't allowed we'd probably take our crap to NeoGAF or something. <3

I think they should give Derek Fisher a medal. You gotta keep your head on a swivel, don't you know that?

That Scalabrini/Jackie Moon thing during the Celtics game was hillarious. Always thought he looked like Will Ferrell.

Let me spare you the pain of wondering. The answer is no. Based upon statements during a recent interview with Fisher regarding Laker "toughness" and his uncharacteristically poor performance on the court lately, I personally believe the act in question was entirely premeditated. He intended to make a statement and he knew what the consequences would be for doing so.

I didn't say it was necessarily the right thing to do but I can still respect that he had the balls to do it.

The hypocrisy doesn't surprise me. Basically, the only thing Fisher can do against the Rockets is to be a Hitman thug. If this playstyle is ok, then dont get mad when Brent Berry flying elbows Kobe or Pau across the face. Like Artest said, "You’re hitting the wrong person. Don’t you know you’re hitting Ron Artest?" Lakers better watch their knees.

I also respect the way Kobe raped that white woman, it wasn't the right thing to do but he still had the balls to do it.

It's hilarious how most people here cry about wanting the old physical days of the NBA back and now Fisher gave a foul that if compared to a couple years ago would have been considered nothing, the exact same people are calling for him to be suspended.

If you haven't noticed, what's considered a playoff foul has been getting a lot less lenient every year because of your incessant whining.

Akiyama: Your right, I haven't read your posts in other forums. However I Don't need to, to see that you've jumped on the Houston bandwagon if just for this series. Anyone with half a brain can tell just by reading your posts.

I don't care you would rather have Houston win over the Lakers, in fact I would have it no other way but don't say your unbiased to what happens in this particular series.

Maybe some slut will cry rape on you someday and you'll feel differently. In the meantime, that old, tired bullshit has nothing to do with what's happening on the basketball court during the 2009 playoffs. Let's try to stay on topic.

I dont see any problem with any of it really. It will be a hard fought and physical series and the Lakers will come out on top. So everyone may as well save the haterade for the finals when the Lebrons take care of the Lakers in 5-6.

Your kidding right? The Horry "Cheap Shot" was mild compared to this. Fisher actually launched himself into Scola. I tried looking up this type of tackle-like foul in the NBA rulebook, but I couldnt find "Playoff Foul".

Go to any basketball gym, and play in a game. Then foul someone like Fisher did. Before someone punches your face in, make sure tell them first "It was just a Playoff Foul"
