I just realized something, Artest attacked Kobe's elbow with his chest. Ron Artest's chest almost injured Kobe's elbow.
LEAVE KOBE'S ELBOW ALONE, ARTEST!

FIXED FOR ACCURACY AND GREAT JUSTICE!

Follow the elbow. All this whining, from Kobe fans/haters always ruins games he plays in. Get over it. There's infinitely more hate-able players in the league.
If they suspend Fisher I wouldn't disagree with them either, hell the Lakers would probably play even better. However people who in the past have complained about how the NBA is deteriorating because of less physicality shouldn't be advocating for Fisher's suspension.
And like I said before, this is how Kobe and Artest play each other. Everytime they meet they play physical and elbow each other on every other possession. Artest shouldn't be complaining and Kobe shouldn't be complaining about the elbow from the picture above either. It's just how they play against each other.
The elbow goes right into his chest. There's a big difference. It was a foul on Kobe, no shit, at least a flagrant one. The thing is, every borderline thing he does is cause for the holy war between fans/haters. I mean, where was the massive outrage when Rondo clearly wound up and smacked Brad Miller hard enough to see double, or throw Kirk Hinrich into the scorers table? (flagrant fouls just like Kobe's elbow) At least be consistent.
For what? Pushing back on Artest who'd been hip-checking and dry-humping him all night?
That wasnt a push, he fucking fired an elbow at Artest. If Howard was suspend for one game, then so should Kobe. Kobe could have broken a rib. Plus Kobe already has a track record for cheap shotting people. If Ron got tossed based on his past history, then Kobe should be suspended. Its that simple.
If Ron had kept his mouth shut he'd have gotten to finish the game. The physicality isn't what gets players ejected unless it's a tackle like Fish did.
If you watch the frontside shot of the elbowing incident, you will see that Kobe actually elbowed Artest across the chest. The rules state that had he elbowed him above the shoulders, it would've been an automatic ejection. Due to the fact that Artests was in an akward stance with his arm across Kobe's neck, when Kobe thru the elbow to the chest, the force from the blow caused Artest to lose his balance and his head snapped back. That's why the views from the back look like he elbowed him in the neck. It doesn't make what he did right by any means and a foul should have been called, and I doubt he will be suspended.

No doubt Fisher will get the suspension. I really hope Shannon Brown gets to start in his place for game 3. In any event, I'm excited to see what happens tomorrow night. Go Lakers!
Um, why is that Kobe elbow being compared with Howard's? Howard threw the elbow after the play, Kobe did it during a box-out. It's at most a lose ball foul.
You can't be serious. People boxing out throw their arms and elbows around all the time. Fighting for position is THE most physical part of basketball, and a play like that has never been called fragrant and will never be in the future.
Thanks for being a typical homer fan. I'm not on Houston's bandwagon. I just think the Lakers are overrated. Everyone bitched and moaned last year that they weren't at full strength because Bynum wasn't around. Uh.. he's around this year, and he's been a pussy that's had to sit on the bench because he wasn't all there in his head. I guess that means the Lakers aren't "at full strength" this year either?
So anyone with half a brain could tell I'm rooting for them? What the fuck, man. I don't even like the NBA which is why I tune in for just the playoffs, because I like playoffs in any sport. Hell, I'm watching Hockey and I live in Alabama. Yes, I know we have a Georgia team and a Florida team, but I don't think they should even exist. I didn't say "I HOPE HOUSTON BEATS DAT ASS GOD I HATE THE LAKERS GRRRR" -- I said I wouldn't be surprised if the Rockets did beat the Lakers, and that it could happen. How is that "jumping on Houston's bandwagon"? Believing a team can beat the "best team in the NBA" doesn't mean shit. It means I have an opinion.
Don't throw that shit at me and act like you know what sort of sports fan I am. That pisses me off. I AM unbiased. I DO think the Rockets can win, just as much as the Lakers could win. The Rockets match up well, and you can't argue that.
Either way, I'm gonna try to enjoy this series without blind Laker fans crying foul about one team doing wrong, yet their own team never does wrong.
