Btw while Ariza did make that key play, I really wish Ariza would be a better man to man defender rather then a roamer.

We need 2 solid defenders on Billups and Carmelo.

This also might go down as a hell of a underrated performance by Kobe. You always see Kobe either be a lockdown defender or a scorer, hardly both. But the first two quarters of the game he shut down Billups then in the 2nd half he had to switch to Carmelo who scored 4-6?? on him while scoring 40.

But Kobe is too light and too short to guard Carmelo and I doubt he will be able to do this all series long. We need Ariza to be able to take care of the other guy Kobe isn't guarding.

Nobody on the Lakers can guard Melo.

Fantastic game last night, Nuggets really showed that they are indeed ready to make that next step and be a championship caliber team, I didn't have too much interest in this series, but after that game I'll be watching it as closely as Cavs v. Magic.

That was a pretty good game. Though I am a Laker fan, I have to say that the Lakers didn't win, but it was more of Denver losing the game. Denver played some really good defense for the most part, but they only made 23 out of 35 from the charity stripe if I remember correctly. You have to make your free throws. Also, how many T's has Kobe had in the playoffs?

If I remember correctly, 7 Technicals in the playoffs = one game suspension. I can see this happening though because Denver really frustrated him. Also, the funny thing about the Technical last night...I am not sure that the announcers were correct, but apparently in the rulebook if you slam the basketball and it goes into the crowds it's a Technical, but if it doesn't go into the crowds, it isn't. Kobe Mishandled the ball when slamming it and got the T which I thought was funny.

Not sure on this. Does the whole 7 technicals = suspension follow into the finals as well?

I wouldn't be surprised if it does. I think you get 15 in the regular season, 7 in the playoffs, the rules do not specifically state anything about the finals so I would assume that the count from the playoffs carry into the finals.

For all his ego, Kobe's not an idiot. He's not going to get himself suspended with Ts during a conference finals.

Pretty sure it does. A reporter in the post game asked Kobe about it and he repeated twice "I won't get another one", we'll see if that's true.

Dimmauk: I'll agree with you nobody on the Lakers can guard Carmelo one on one, but as a team the Lakers can shut down Carmelo easily. Problem is Gasol was pathetic on defense yesterday and Bynum was in foul trouble.

I agree that Carmelo Anthony is a handfull but I doubt he will have it as easy again against the Lakers as he did last night. Adjustments will be made. I was thrilled to see the smug smile he wore throughout the game wiped off his face in the end. Sadly, free throws were truly the difference. Thuggets missed an assload and Kobe hit all of his in the clutch.

Don't hate on Mellow, he was doin' work. He and Kobe are friends and were having a good time. Not sure how much you were into athletics but I used to love playing against my friends, I even got into a fight with one during a scrimmage game one time.

The Nuggets didn't win the scoreboard victory, but now know they can beat the Lakers. The only adjustment the Lakers can make on Melo, is if they suddenly get Artest, LeBron, or Battier on their team.
