    Started playing this today.

I can't be the only person whose wrists hurt after using the cymbals. Even though I'm not hitting them very hard, the feedback is agonizing. It's like taking an aluminum baseball bat and slamming it into a fence post, though admittedly on a lesser level.

I couldn't even play for a third of the time I normally do on RB, and I'm one of those people who's never damaged their drums, who knows how to sit and play correctly, et cetera. Can't stand these stupid hard-as-rock cymbals. Ugh.

The other pads are beautiful though. Drum rolls are great.

Should've just used the RB set... the GH drums are absolutely terrible.

Are you sure you aren't holding the drumsticks too hard? I know what you're talking about, but it doesn't hurt my wrists, and it doesn't hurt enough to stop playing.

The only thing that gets me about the drumset is the responsiveness of those cymbals. On long, fast note sections that's like:

    Code:
    Y
    Y
    Y
    Y
    Y
    YR
    Y
    Y
    Y
    Y
    Y
    YR
    Y
    Y
    Y
    Y
    Y
    YR
    Y
    Y
    Y
    Y
    Y
    YR
    Y...
I lose the Y beat and I'm 100% positive my timing is not off... it's just that the hit doesn't register with the game.

There's a problem with the guitar hero drums (Surprise surprise) Most of them have sensitivity issues (Mine for example...I need to hit green twice as hard as red to get it to register. When I hit green hard, it plays green and orange - fucked, right?) You can get a MIDI - USB port via activision. This allows you to connect your drums to your computer, and use a program made by activision to alter the sensitivity of your pads individually. You can make it so they register a really light tap, instead of having to slam on them. I'm waiting for my connector at the moment.

Is the connector and software free?

EDIT: Nevermind, just filed an order for my cable. I'm glad they've got a fix for this.

I too love the RB drums. The pedal is much nicer, for sure, and I've never had a problem with hits registering. I must say, though, that drum rolls and fills truly are a beautiful thing on the GH set. It's just too bad everything else isn't nearly as gorgeous.

I have both sets and will eventually go back to full-timing the RB drums.

Yeah, I'm taking care not to hit too hard. My hands are relaxed enough so I benefit from the rebound, with the drum sticks held properly. My wrists are kind of sensitive though, and the cymbals don't provide any rebound at all, so it sucks.

The same exact thing was happening to me. Really frustrating.

The RB2 set is really great, don't see any reason to use anything else. I did try out the GH set at a friend's but it wasn't as reliable or fun IMO.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone used the rockband 2 drums? How do they compare to the WT drums. I dont have either, but want to get one of them. Anyone who has used both, which do you prefer?

If you're going to use 1 set for both games, get RB. GHWT adjusts to the RB set and only shows 4 notes on the highway, RB won't be as nice and you'll have to manage if using the WT set.

Ok I'm sure this crap has been asked a million times already, but the RB2 or GH:WT guitars are compatible with GH3? I mean, my GH3 guitar is basicly worn out so badly my Orange button sometimes doesn't work and it really fucks up the game. If the RB2 or GH:WT guitar would work with GH3 too then I could just get one of those 2 games and not need to get me a new GH3 guitar.

Also, does GH:WT songlist include some 'heavier' numbers? I've always enjoined playing songs like Stricken, One, The Metal, TTFaF, HooT, OGnP, etc.

I know for a fact the GHWT guitar is compatible with GH3, but I'm not sure about the RB2 one.

    Also, songlist.

Since the game is already out in the US I've checked out some youtube links of the higher tier songs. Some of them look kind of fun like Hot for Teacher and some of them look really out of place like La Bamba, heh. I'm still not sure if I'll get GH:WT, RB2 or neither of them. With RB2 I could at least get the songs from RB1 and I know theres a shitload of them out there that are fun. On the other hand, I doubt RB2 controller will work with GH3 since I found a compatibility list on the Scorehero's wiki and it looked like the RB controllers didn't work with GH3 but do work with GH:WT.

Lil bump - got my midi cable. Played around with the sensitivity a bunch, and now they're perfect Took a couple tries, but it really let me fine tune it to exactly how I wanted them to work. They should just include the cable standard imo, but all in all, really happy with my drums now (no dropped notes, no double notes going off hitting 1 pad, and my kick pedal would trigger just by tapping it, not even pressing down - all of that is now fixed.
