    I went to Storm Peaks at like 77 and finished up the entire zone and went to Icecrown at like 1 bar to 79. Really wanted to experience the phasing. I never touched Sholazar or Zul'drak. Never even entered Sholazar yet actually.. Now its time to pimp out my hunter <_<

    The only struggles I've had gearing toons is on my plate wearers because there just isn't a whole lot of non healy plate from quests, but that shit's buyable at AH with the money earned grinding out the questing achievements. To each their own, but my tailors sure loved having the Deathchill Cloak recipe before a lot of others did on the server.

    I never touched Sholazar until I was level 80 either.

    shame cuz sholazar is the best place to level, easy quests etc, and not to mention you can grind rep quests while you're at it and oh, if you have herbalism/alchemy, you'll make tons of money too.

    i went sholazar -> IC for ebon blade rep for my hunter when i was leveling.

    Any gathering profession (skinning/mining/herbalism) can make BANK in Sholazar, it is the WotLK farmer's paradise. On the downside it's extremely popular, and anybody with a DK/Paladin miner is better off in Wintergrasp, where Titanium abounds.

    I would only jump ahead to zones that do just quests with good gear upgrades and then head back and do the lower leveled zones until done. Usually my intention is to do quests for gold once I'm 80 but I don't end up doing it.

    Me and my sister are leveling together, her ret pally my arms warrior, and currently it looks like we are getting about 2 levels a zone. We pretty much finish a zone between 50%-80% into the 2nd level and almost at a 3rd.

    We did like 3-4 quests total in dragonblight and just dinged 75. We did my normal Tundra > Fjord > DB > GH > ZD thing where we get the achievement for every zone. Both of us are using epic fliers as of midway through HF... wondering if GH > ZD is the best option for us next. I'm pretty sure we'll be 77ish after DB, maybe between 76.5 or 76.8, and GH is obvious to do next especially with epic fliers... but we'll be around 78 or 79 after GH, and I detest ZD... would it be best to go to Basin instead?

    My logic is that, pretty much every zone until maybe SP is mostly designed for ground mounts, so for us to be using epic fliers, it may be better for us not to follow the norm. Couple that with you saying SB is a great questing zone... I've only done SB once because my first 80 dinged there, since then all of them have dinged in early ZD. Not to mention the Nessingwary quests will be a joke with us both killing mobs together to get the kill count up twice as fast.

    I dunno, yeah SB is great but theres ALOT of running back and forth. feels like youre out "doing the job" alot more in other zones. SB is really really fast tho, and yeah, for gatherers its heaven

    sholazar is hands down the most enjoyable, and quickest leveling you will come across, bar none. my questing route is this, and mind you i hate ZD with a fucking passion, so i skip it entirely:

    68-70: HF
    70-72/3: BT
    73-75: DB
    75-76.5: GH
    76.5-77/8: SB
    77/8 - 80 IC, SP if i have a handful of quests left to 80.

    edit: sholazar is extra breezy with flying. you'll tear that place a new ass in a few hours. make sure to finish up your grind to 80 in icecrown though, the argent crusade and ebon blade rep from there is very nice, even though if you have it on your main you can just mail shit to your alts in 3.3

    I went the same route basicly, except I skipped GH in favor of starting with ZD because I was already 75 when I finished DB and I read that heavy frostweave bandage manual dropped in ZD. About halfway through ZD I left for SB because I basicly finished needing Cobalt Bars for my Blacksmithing profession and needed to get a shitload of Saronite Bars now. Right now I have the achievement for HF and BT quests, am a handful of quests away from the achievement in DB and am about halfway through ZD and SB. I just got level 77 (yay, coldweather flying!) so I hope things will pick up a bit. On the downside I need to stay the hell away from Dalaran before my 4y old PC selfdestructs. Thankfully I have a new one on the way that should be able to handle it

    I just don't get it. In Icecrown you can get a blue reward every 5 quests or so, it's really nice for gearing up. But maybe that's why my characters do 2.5k dps upon hitting 80 when so many other people are a lot lower, I go for gear first.

    In my opinion questing in Icecrown without an epic mount is one of the worst possible choices. You constantly move up and down as the place is clearly designed with flying mounts in mind.
    It was a pain to grind there until I got my first epic mount.

    normally i would agree, but with non-epic flying being 150% speed, it's really not so terrible now.

    Well I have several 80's and have always stuck to my basic route as mentioned.

    Wait till 70 to start northrend, then clear every northrend zone at least up to the quest achievement for that zone... BT>HF>DB>GH>ZD and never need to go past that, then if I need money go quest the rest of the zones which I haven't needed to do in a while. Usually ding 80 within the first chain or 2 in ZD (just after riding the giant dude, or when you use the corpse disguise). But when leveling with a partner, and with BOA's, things seem to be going faster and much much easier... obviously the lower the level the mobs the better for us since I'm an arms warrior and we just 2shot most things, but the idea of trying other places since we are duoing and have epic fliers is still intriguing... I wouldn't touch SP or IC, but SB is a thought since we are both miners and I'm a blacksmith and soon to be JC. Not to mention most of what I remember was just killing mobs and not much collecting, non-collection quests favor us since we'd need 2x the items.

    If you do the Ebon Blade chains before you touch any Skybreaker quests you'll have this in your possession: Onslaught Gryphon Reins - Item - World of Warcraft

    It's not as fast as the improved 150% speed mounts but you can fly indoors with it and can't be dismounted, giving you a pretty sweet ride for the Skybreaker chains. Icecrown questing isn't quite as painful as it used to be, but admittedly finding help for the Aldur'thar quests and beyond can be a chore.

    If you do the Argent Vanguard quests which are quick and easy, then head to unlock the Ebon Blade line you can go and do the Jotunheim quests to unlock ANOTHER "Ring of Blood" area for massive massive exp to finish you off to 80.

    You guys must be skipping alot quests or something....

    when I lvled my 8 characters months ago they all ended up basically the same...

    Lv70 -> 73BT
    Lv73 -> 76HF
    Lv76 -> 79-80 DB

    If not 80 I'd do the crazy quest line near dalaren with the argent crusade thats short and easy, usually gets 80 on that doing the "talk to him/her" for exp questline.

    The only character that was maybe 1 level behind was the druid I leveled from 1->80.

    took about 3 months I think to do 8 characters since I raid 5 days a week... the route I took for lvling was pretty fast.

    I can't imagine this route working without some combination of heirlooms, instancing or lots of rested EXP. A fresh 70 without any of those isn't going to hit 80 in DB with quests alone, not a chance.
