You guys must be skipping alot quests or something....

I do every single quest in the zone as well as 1 instance run for quests, you must be missing some information in there because I've never come close to what you are saying.

My latest character was around 100xp (yes, 100) into 70, wanted to get as close to sisters alt as possible. Using both exp herilooms full time, and doing every single quest in BT including one run of nexus for those quests and 2-3 dailies a few days in a row, I was only able to get well into 72, never hit 73 but I wasn't far, only a few bubbles less than half a level. Doing the same thing in HF every quest (except I didn't run UK once for the quests I still have to) I was about 4-5bubbles from 75, which we got almost immediately in DB (all weve done so far is land, run back and fourth between the commander, rescue people, save the people in town, and do the mine quests + 1 of the elites).

We are now <1bar into 75. I'd imagine we'll get close to, if not get 77, considering it's usually 2 levels per zone and we are almost at the 3rd level point.

Now I know we are leveling as 2 people, in a party, so xp from mobs may be a little different (but it would only account for a couple bubbles), as well as 2 other characters I've done this way and none of them were 80 before zuldrak. Every one of the character i mentioned was on full rested with at least 1 xp bonus item. The latest characters have 2.

My method is the same one the leveling guides typically use... Hit 70 first, then Full clears of BT>HF>DB>GH> and ding either in GH or early ZD. I've never touched the other 3 zones aside for getting gold at 80. The reason I questioned SB is because if I don't get 80 in GH, I'd like to avoid ZD if possible, and if SB is actually faster/easier if I'm well into 78 if not 79 after GH as well as with epic fliers.

edit: also no bg's have been done since hitting 70... but pre-70, well lets leave that out ;p

yeah Ive done BT>HF>DB>GH>ZD>SP with all my chars, and I usually get about 2 levels per zone when using jame's guides, which makes me ding 80 at the beginning of SP (I always do entire IC after Ive dinged for teh moneyz)

I can't imagine this route working without some combination of heirlooms, instancing or lots of rested EXP. A fresh 70 without any of those isn't going to hit 80 in DB with quests alone, not a chance.

when i did it, I used no heirlooms

did each instance 1 time only for the quests

I did pretty much kill everything I ran over, did all the group/elite quests, and on the druid I went to northrend at lv 68, got Lv 80 at the point of just starting grizzly hills.

doing the daily quests helps alot in lvling, you can do the grizzly hills daily i think around Lv 74?

kind of an accomplishments, havent got any upgrades in 3 weeks now, togc being a bitch w/ drop rate and i'm hoarding my dkp passing stuff to other dps.

now i'm ranked 14th on guild's dps in terms of gear, yet i've manage to always get top 3 on dps meter (damn op mages on jaraxx), feels good man.

You do know if you use a couple of select skins that you can see the tooltips here on BG, right?

Nope, which skins are you talking about? I alternate between Black Smart and Visual Depth.

Edit: Went through all of them and the only one that shows tooltips on hover is R-WH, and I really cannot stand light based forum skins ._.

Finally bought my 8.5 head for Shadow on my Priest. If I buy the chest I'll have the 4 pc. bonus, lol. XD

Last night, much to my shock, my guild finally cleared ToC10 (normal). We're a casual group, with about 5-6 hardcore raiders and the rest are casual-esque players, so I'm actually really proud of us (especially after we wiped like, 6x on Twins last week).

Yeah, I've been pugging ToC10 and 25 for quite awhile now, but my guild's 10-man team fell apart, and people had a bunch of irl crap going on, so we haven't done much as a guild. Hopefully success with this will make more people want to sign up to raid again. :3
