We've been raiding with zero hunters, and my guild leader (also my best friend in RL) was getting pissed at me for having only my Paladin around and never being able to do alt runs. But yeah, between a Marrowgar on Saturday and a run of the First 4 + Fester/Rot yesterday, I've gotten obscenely lucky with drops. Outside of the belt off Marrowgar last week I got the bow/bracers/ring all on 3 straight bosses.

pulled 10k on my lock last night. First time I've crossed 10k on a non-aoe fight. It was the new VoA boss, so no movement... but still switched to orbs.

Tuesday night we did 4 attempts on Putricide 10man, joined the 7:00 raiding 10man group.

One of the coleaders got real pissed yelled at everyone "you all suck, why don't you get it?" Even though 1/2 the time we got him to p3.

We go in yesterday and 'one shot' it. Also we killed princes in about 5 kills.

Was nice to get guild first on both bosses. and hope to increase that with blood queen tonight.

I honestly think this is what bothers me with the limited attempts. Admittedly, most encounters simply aren't so overtuned that dozens of wipes should be required to learn a boss encounter, but especially for a complex fight like Putricide that requires people to not only keep in mind the several different mechanics happening at any given moment (dodging Malleable Ooze seems to be about the worst part of the Putricide encounter, in my experience), a group that is barely geared or simply has a learning curve is highly penalized by the limited attempts whereas it is clear that the overgeared, professional WoW players are not hindered in the slightest.

I did a ToGC10 with a bunch of people who'd never done ToGC10 before, myself included, and we wiped 4 or 5 times to Anub'arak before everyone learned all the little subtleties of the encounter that simply cannot be taught by any method other than experience (for my part, learning that Fade is a really bad thing when being pursued). 50 wipes seems more than reasonable for a raid with only five bosses, but it's still needless added stress when you're learning the encounter or introducing new people for it. I doubt I'll ever come close to Insanity.

Personally, i don't mind. I see it as a reward to be dedicated/hardcore. These people will have an edge, but only because they farmed the hell out of the previous content before the last update.

First week at 80 for my Hunter completed. Guild is sitting on just Sindragosa and Lich King left, hopefully blow thru them this weekend.

Wingclip hasn't moved from 1 for as long as I've played WoW (which since my hunter has an old school pvp title has been a decent amount of time). It's only since I dinged 80 (so friday) that I took Raptor Strike off 2. Same deal with Steady Shot being at 4 and Auto Shot at 3. Old habits die hard.

It wasn't our first Blood Queen kill, we took her down last week as well (though I was on my paladin), though we did take out Valithria today once we moved me off Paladin to Hunter to kite the Blistering Zombies, and since those portal sequences were driving me bat shit insane.

Also I play on a laptop exclusively so the keys are all close together. Most of my play habits come from having always played FFXI on laptop keyboard settings, even when I owned desktops.
