Altogether, I'm sorry that you haven't found people that you like to game with.

Well, that's the thing, I'm a social member of Blue Garter and generally run with their alts or random runs. They only load up Vent for those if they are having problems with a PUG who doesn't seem to know what they're doing. We've had people figure out who is going in or out for spores during Festergut without any kind of communication, verbal or textual, and even if someone misses out, everyone has either the cooldown or the base health to survive with only two stacks of Innoculation (hence the hard mode).

Lich King is a completely different sort of fight and, like Anub'arak, it'll be months before everyone is comfortable and experienced enough with the fight that coordination won't strictly be required. Text works just fine when you're playing with competent people, though. That's sort of my prejudice, too: I've seen it work time and time again over the years in FFXI and WoW that people coordinate as well or better if they're not able to talk freely. I don't mind people socializing, but time and place. Trash packs are ok, but except for the initial stuff in ICC, you shouldn't be taking more than ~10 minutes to get through any trash in the place and instead should be focusing for bosses because heaven knows the place takes long enough without adding additional delay into it.

I am torn when it comes to vent and other VoIP. While it does help communicate with others much faster than typing, it does also create social issues when it comes to who uses it, who doesnt, etc. Especially when you find some people huddling up together in rooms talking w/o the rest of the LS/guild.

But to get back to accomplishments.....

Woot, broke 5k GS finally, and got exalted with frenzyheart. Also was a miracle that the last daily I needed for doing them all turns out to be the one I get on my last day for exalted. Now I just need to finish up the walrus people and work on Oracles and I am done with all the non-raid WotLK reps. Finished heroics for 3 more BC dungeons with a friend, and tonight look to unlock and run heroic Magister's Terrace to get Outland Dungeon Hero.

Already almost 4.5k achievements now, was just 4k only recently too lol.

I just enjoy listening to music, and I get annoyed when they can hear my music playing when I talk, so I get asked to turn it down or off. I'd just rather not talk while listening to songs, so its a toss up for me.

I'd rather have a guild that's serious during "working hours", though, as its annoying hearing Benny Hill music during a wipe or someone talking about their wife's massive melons when we're supposed to be going over a strat.

On the vent issue...

its alot more helpful on something you need "seconds" to convey a change, and to warn someone. Typing to people doesn't really help ;/

Overall though... I think blizzards right, bring the player not the class
If they are bad.. no vent or with vent, they are going to get raped!

Reminds me of the new hunter we got recently... (good thing he's an app all the hunter loots MINE ... if it ever drops)

Like... during heroic festergut he dies to something... and were on vent going "Don't take the res, till the boss exhales or you die"... so he gets a preres so the druid can spam heal before the exhale...

and whats he do.. takes the res and dies 5-10 seconds later ;/ and then he says on vent something like "oh man I didn't know that would kill me".

he doesn't even say on vent if he missed one the spore debuffs to die/survive the exhales ;/

I don't think it would be too bad if people didn't need their hand carried to be told to "GIVE THE DISEASE TO SOMEONE BEFORE YOU DIE" screaming on vent isn't a clue to do something for several people ;/

that and the direction your supposed to be flying after a explosion hit... although I've been nominated not to go pileup for phase 2 because of malleable goo so i can burn hard /rawr

Now I can finally start using my DKP on some other shit. Maybe some PvP stuff will drop in VoA. Or marks. Marks is nice. Beyond that, nothing more I really want. I saved (and spent) a metric ton of DKP for that trink.

We've only attempted it on 10 so far a few times. Is there a trick to handing the plague off? We usually try to wait like 10 seconds and have the person who has it run to a spot so someone can take it off of them (so it's not bouncing around melee), but for some reason I just don't think that's gonna work.

Just make an effort to pass it after 5 seconds. Don't worry too much about giving it to someone with the debuff, just they'll need to pass it asap.

We did putricide 10 hard in 2 pulls, with the holy paladin dead most of the fight. With someone directing traffic on vent the disease was not an issue. A couple of times I deliberately picked up the disease even with the debuff, so that I could transfer it. The first few 2-3 ticks do very little damage even with the debuff.

Just make sure you add both the disease and the resulting debuff to your raid frames.

hmm I think its instant death for anyone holding it over 5 sec thats not some sort of tank (even on 10man?) O_o

basically what your "supposed" to do with it is...

Someone gets disease -> runs beside the shambling horror -> gets dispelled -> shambling horror gets debuff -> jumps to tank tanking it (after its duration goes out) -> dispel -> shambling horror stack 2X -> next person -. next next -> stack 10+ shambling horror Hp goes down like 500,000++++ per 5 seconds -> should be phase 2 (don't let it stack too high or LK will start ass raping reallllyy hard)

This will make the fight easier... also, this is how you do the LK achievement (well the basics, its a bit different for the achievement!) "I've waited a long time" (you will really need a geared tank to survive doing this because LK will hit like heroic mode with that many buffs on him)

oh opps maybe I was misreading something too...

the disease is probably near fatal for most people by 10... its already doing 13K+ by 5-6 seconds unless pally bubbling off the last few seconds or getting bomb healed like crazy.

The disease really doesn't hurt... if you toss it fast... I mean I've survived a 4 stack for 3 seconds (even if its ticking like 12,000-14,000) as long as you pass it fast it really won't matter. In our 25man people just kind of stand there with it like "uhh.... who do I give this too?" and die ;/

best method imo.. is "pass it to someone, before you die"
