yeah like for my warlock i pretty much read ej and know what to gear from my own testing. with my mage i just load up rawr and it tells me what to use, and it pretty much right.

Manged to get 6/12 icc10 hc this Friday and picked up Ether-Soaked Bracers HC. Shame I couldn't be there for the followup on Saturday. Unfortunately on icc25 we are still defail-ing or fucking up Valkyr positioning. Although to mix things up lately we've had tanks die during the end of the first phase transition.

It was a joke, Phylac is way better than DFO for Fire Mage/Afflic/Spriest/Boomkin though from what I am told.

Negative, Ghost Rider. For SPriest, the DFO is better (if the ICD of the Phylactery is still 100sec). It's just all kinds of awesome for everyone.

Eh, i was reading some posts there and looks like the ICD which was made that value was 90s instead 100s, so hmmm i think you are right, well glad cuz i will never beat Sindragosa on 25man xD and i got DFO last night :D .

I overcame my laziness and evaluated the trinkets the proper way, with Simulationcraft. Updated listings again:

#02 Phylactery of the Nameless Lich(277)

• Icecrown: Sindragosa / Heroic-25 / SimC-Casey
  364.84 = 172*0.76+234.12

#04 Phylactery of the Nameless Lich(264)

• Icecrown: Sindragosa / Normal-25 / SimC-Casey
  327.21 = 152*0.76+211.69

Methodology:
Run a baseline gearset to get DPS and SP scaling value. I used the Simc 264 BiS set for the 264 PotNL, and the Simc 277 BiS set for the 277 PotNL. Run again with the trinket proc disabled to get effective DPS with no trinket proc. Value the proc of each trinket in PP as [difference in DPS] / [SP scaling value]. Simulationcraft settings: 300 second fight, 10,000 iterations, otherwise defaults. Numbers are within about 3% relative error of the napkin calculations above.

And PP values assigned to DFO from first page of that thread:

I'd tend to trust the numbers cited by the maintainer of the priest module of simulationcraft rather than some choob in <Wiping on Trash> who probably doesn't have any clue what he's doing with it. Theres no way a 10 second difference in ICD results in that drastic of a change, if the ICD is even 100 sec.

Actually I figured out what it is, fight length has a pretty huge influence on whether or not Phylactery is better. With a static fight length of 300 sec and an ICD of 90sec you get really good numbers. With a 100 sec ICD you get one less proc, which severely devalues Phylactery. In a longer fight phylactery will probably still outperform or at least match DFO. In a shorter fight that ends right near the end of your final phylactery proc you would see amazing value from the phylactery as well.

300 sec fight length with DFO results in 12779 DPS in full BiS whereas with Phylactery it's 12694.
500 sec fight length with DFO results in 12670 DPS in full BiS whereas with Phylactery it's 12606.

The second trinket used is Heroic Reign. I think it's pretty safe to say, assuming that the Phylactery icd is indeed 100, that DFO is better.

That's the thing, though. I thought everyone was certain it was a 100 second ICD, but I'm looking at my logs from last night, and the procs seem damn close to 90 seconds apart, unless I'm reading it incorrectly.

It's pretty amazing really, every trinket available in ICC pretty much is at least moderately useful to SOME spec, even if it's not best in slot.

Not like that piece of shit that always drops in ToC...use effect that gradually adds AP for 10 sec or something retarded like that.
