Here's what I've done now after the feedback and further research.

I still only have 994 haste and with my Wrath of Air totem, my chain heal is around 1.8 seconds and 1.5 when I use the riptide proc from the 2 set bonus.

Change your jewelcraft specific gems to 34haste

I thought about doing that I'll lose those socket bonuses and I'll lose on the MP5 which. I did a 25 man last night through the first 2 wings and my HPS was down as I lose some crit/sp when I re-gemmed for more haste. I also noticed that my mana pool was more taxed than before but I never completely ran OOM. I'm still toying with it but for my gear, I feel like I should be able to push out more HPS than I am. :/

If you are never actually OOM at any point before the end of the combat, then you still have enough. Anything nonzero is still surplus. You took out some of the mp5, so yeah obviously you're going to have a perceptible drop in sustained mana value. If anything high mana all the time means you have too much mp5 and not enough throughput, as you're gaining it faster than you can spend it at that point and not getting maximum oomph from the time you spend casting.

He only has 3 keys to use, Totem bind, Chain Heal & bloodlust, shaman is just that simple.

^ lol. Sad but true. I might try more haste as I don't ever run completely OOM but I don't want to lose those socket bonuses. Maybe I can switch the green/blue slots for 10 haste and 5 mp5 versus the 17 mp5 and then swap some of the 20 haste for the 34 haste which will give me 42 more haste overall putting me close to 1040.

I was pretty much the best pve shaman to ever grace the game of WoW.

with all the right raid buffs, you shouldn't go oom if you have good gear and you use predominantly sp/haste/crit gear. socket haste in every slot possible.

True.

Manatide totem is on a 5min cd iirc, so theres no excuse to be going OoM and if your the one going OoM so quick get others to pick up the slack.

Glad I got this full set before the incoming patch - It took me a while to get, especially starting mid-season 8 after a yearlong WoW break. But I'm very satisfied and happy I got one of my goals done before Cata. SEASON 9 GLAD GOGO.

No point I suppose lol, I guess I just read your comment as "getting points while they're available"

Since the rewards and everything will still be there as a FoS, afaik. I may be wrong though (original glory to the raider still says you get drake despite them removing those as well)
