Is Sindra bugged? Destroyed her in a pick up with 5 people who didn't know what to do (2nd attempt) -- someone mentioned she's missing the unchained magic debuff, perhaps this was why we're able to finish her as no one needed to hold back?
A guild friend killed 4 bosses earlier this week and started a group for 5th boss onwards, at 9:45pm ... for some reason he was able to find a group of VERY nice people that's not really done ICC past the 4th boss (barring a few others). No one bitched or raged or anything, at all, and was happy to follow instructions despite needing 2-3 attempts per boss. Had an off tank also I suspect being a brought character since he had all the ach's but he didn't know how to tank any of the bosses, and left after we downed PP (he was REALLY happy with the Facelifter sword drop and just left). After a few reps including a dickhead Paladin on his shadowmourne quest, we ploughed on through Princes, Blood Queen and Dreamwalker, the reps were really nice people and all have not done any of those bosses before.
After Dreamwalker we were gonna call it (I wanted to sleep), but decided to try Sind anyway. First attemt the off tank pulled right after we downed Rimefang and then 3 people proceeded to die and I jumped into the action. A note here, Sindra's a little untankable for DKs due to her breath, which cripples rune generation. I had 6 stacks of breath on me and therefore was unable to move, at all. Rune generation was piss poor too. For some magical reason, and people getting tombed here and there, we managed to get her down to 15% before wiping (7 people) -- the healers were really good. I was eating every Frost Blast and that "draw in" ice move of hers (thank god for magic shell) as well. Usually in such situation all the high and mighty will be screaming retard/noob/omg/rage quit ... but no one complained! I was really pleased with the people's attitude, for once (I tell you this is rare).
2nd attempt the same happened and it was decided I shouldn't try to move at all and just eat all incoming attacks (my movement speed was -300%). At one point 6 people got tombed too, it was funny seeing people frantically attacking the ice. Towards the last bit Sindra was at 2% or so before I went down (I had 8, i think it's a cap? of the debuff on me so I was taking 80% more damage), but we had enough to finish her off ! Lots of people got their achiev's hehe.
And finally, the people disbanded. But the 5 or so guys with me who hasn't even seen LK before, I told them that they can have a go at getting killed by LK and they all wanted to go see, I took them up to the throne room, where they were all enthusiastically slapping/dancing and posing for screenshots and such before I gave them the ultimatium and started the LK fight and wiped it-- I kinda felt like a father to them all haha! XD -- after many happy thank yous and goodbyes people logged.
I need a drug for this.
You're supposed to trade tanks every air phase to avoid the breath stacking to kingdom come. Nobody can tank her 100-0.
I was close! 100-2 ! =p
We had 3 healers though if that helps it (I believe all previous attempts it was 2 healers during guild runs), but unfortunately the off tank still wasn't sure of the tacts but he kept apologising about not being able to fully understand what we were saying (his name was polish). Only when I went down did I scream taunt so the off tank can hold it for that few seconds while the boss went down =)
In that case, I'll mark this as an accomplishment XD
I hope to find such a well behaved group again though. This is really rare for me.
It makes the tank a liability during frost bombs and really limits his threat gen due to the attack speed slowdown (attacking once every 9 seconds is bad mojo for anybody), but it's not mechanically impossible; just really crazy to do without some means of resetting the breath debuff.
Half the time I resist her breath thanks to the trinket anyway, and the other half of the time, there's always Hand of Freedom
In other news, finished Earth, Wind & Fire (10) and Alone in the Darkness (10) last night
inb4 nerfed content post 4.0.1
Ah, understood understood. It's true I was a huge liability as I was basically eating up everything, I didn't even try to run anymore and just shelled up whenever she draws you in, but for some reason being able to do things my way or out of the ordinary is so much more fun than people screaming profanities at me. However I prep'd in advance for this at the beginning by Dancing Rune Weapon at any given opportunity, giving me a huge threat lead by the time I was crippled.
In hindsight, I hope those people that were with me don't try it in their pick up groups![]()
Sorry, I wasn't trying to criticize or detract from your accomplishment or anything, just pointing out that DKs aren't really any more or less capable than anyone else if you use the mechanics the way they were intended![]()
We always 1 tank Sindra till 35%, and when doing All you can eat we use 1 tank 8 DPS 1 healer and nothing goes wrong unless the healer gets tombed. I never really seem to stack Frost Breath above 2 and its never been a problem, we always have a Paladin since freedoming the tank makes the slowing effect moot for transition changes.
No prob, I'm always up for a discussion =D -- interesting to see how people will do it otherwise.
Heroic LK 25 finally fucking dead. Roll on cata!
Treasure of the Timeless One - done.
Paladin (or a raid with a non retarded paladin), druid and maybe warrior can tank Sindra until P2 np.
Came back to WoW, convinced Blizz to give me all my toons back AND the 200k I sold before I quit.
Ingame stuff:
1 shot Heroic 10 man LK
Killed Halion 10/25 the first time in.
ICC is seriously a joke now. My druid in 252-253 ilvl gear tanked everything without breaking a sweat. My only issue was AoE threat, which will be fixed post-80.
