85 warrior, 525 archaeology, Fossilized raptor, fossilized hatchling, clockwork gnome(anyone else notice cata pets are fucking tiny?)

Not sure if it holds true for others, but I did a new quest "Remembering Auberdine" that rewarded a Treant pet. He was really tiny when I summoned him. As I ran through Dark Shore the road was broken and I had to dive off a cliff into the river to continue on. When I did I noticed a message, "Withers absorbs the water, growing back to full size."

I wonder if the other new pets added have little tricks to getting them "normal size" like Withers did. I could be totally off, but just a thought.

It will probably be quite a while before you see many of the new meta's around. They cost 3 tokens and most people use there first token on a rare gem recipe to level with and then use the next few on the various chimera eye recipes.

Ember Skyflare is the WoTLK meta, just no one has it since it wasn't useful until they fucked up Chaotic. There are people selling Ember and Chaotic Cata metas but for 1000g+ each and I only have like 100g left after getting the goggles.

dinged 85 on my DK at about 9pm last night after a full day of grinding quests (can't really grind randoms as a dps, 50min queues FTL). also finally got 300 flying, making money is super easy now, even if you're just vendoring greens. I think I made like 2k just on sunday.

next thing is to work on getting 329 ilvl so I can do heroics, and work on my tanking set

Normal modes are for casuals. Only thing making it relatively difficult is bugged ill-tuned fights and undergeared everyone from rushing into the raids.

What's dps looking like in strong groups atm? Had one group that couldn't beat enrage in the new voa, and the next group I went with we barely beat it. I was doing like 5.2k as tank holding back half the time, the dps were between 8.5-12k.

5 minute zerk timer means you need rough RDPS of 71576 on 10 man, which after tank dps (assuming the 5k number you listed) is about 13k per player.

8k is scrub territory, you could do that much without really trying hard in T9.

I would say the average DPS i have seen from most players at the moment is anywhere between 11-12k. Anything less then this and they are probably playing their class wrong, or haven't got to grips with their new class mechanics as of yet. Personally as a Rogue i can be pushing up at 15-16k along with Hunters, and some Mages. I am sure the guild Feral druid will be up there too when he has a bit more gear since they seem to be incredibly strong at the moment. For 25 man, our kill all dps was a range from 11.5-15k dps

I'd say it's finely tuned, most of the normal modes are going to be so trivial with 2 weeks of experience and gear. We're already having no problem on most things, but like you said the normal modes tend to be pretty difficult being undergeared/experienced. A lot of casuals and lesser hardcore guilds will be doing normal modes for a while.

And no, Wrath took one day to clear all of the introductory raid content by tons and tons of guilds. There are only few who have downed 12/12 the first week. I'd say it's a little harder than WotLK, but not like a ridiculous amount.
