What? Are you talking about the new 2pc bonus? Or are you just talking about when an Arcane Mage pops all their cooldowns and throws up Mirror Images so they don't get raped as a result? If it's the latter, Mirror Images isn't really the reason mages are bursting 80k. If it's the former, the 2pc sounds broken.

^ indeed. without prepotting I can still push 120k crits on bosses with no gimmicks, from the moment go. but deffo need to mirror and invis before mirrors end or I get mcpwnt

then when all my procs wear off it slows down a lot

so after struggling w/ Ryolith for the past 2 days.. we decide to start w/ Bale tonight.. Kill him w/in the hr and then go to one shot Ryolith. Felt good

Ideally an Arcane Mage will stack 4 Arcane Blasts and then blow all his cooldowns at the beginning of a fight down to 35% mana and then evocate back up and start their mana conservation rotation. We're just very bursty every 2mins or so. It's neat to see on the meters, especially at the beginning of a fight, but it averages out at the end as others said.

Loved it when that shit happened, I remember back in Ulduar, struggling with Yog+0 for weeks then just randomly one shotting it, sometimes everything falls into place.
