^this. last reset we got 90% agi mail drops, and we have no hunter. I've yet to get a single upgrade out of firelands that i didn't solo from trash. And like aurik said, shoulders are a pretty good indicator. I wouldn't go with weapons because so many can be bought off AH, but shoulders you still have to put work in to get.

ironically it was my friends first ZG run too, and he loves hunting mounts so far .

Major dome bro is proving difficult for my ranged people. the fire orbs at his second human form is the only thing keeping us from winning. We're 10 man, any suggestions?

Wow's been harder then FFXI since like... black temple imo and slowly going up on difficulty with all kinda random boss mechanics and phases.

Anyway kinda feel bad I took a break from wow at the start of cata, but.. at least! I can pug 7/7 firelands, now if a pug could actually do any heroics...

If you figure it out let me know. We're at the exact same point. Getting buttfucked by horrible orb placement. Either they're bunched together or in the middle of melee.

With the orbs bunched together you need one 3 person rotation.
With the orbs separated, you need 2x2 person rotations.
Don't stack the buff over 4.

If they spawn in the middle of melee, just have the tank move the boss.

We do a clock rotation. when you look towards where domo spawns, that would be 12:00. Then clockwise from there, we just assign people like this

Team 1 Circle: Person 1 + Person 2
Team 2 Triangle: Person 3 + Person 4
Team 3 Square: Person 5 + Person 6
Team 4 Moon: Person 7 + Person 8
Team 5Diamond: Person 9 + Person 10
The rest of the ranged back up when someone dies

Everybody spreads to those, starting from 12:00 clockwise, if any spawn in the melee, the melee just go in and take it free for all cause it doesn't matter that much.
I guess I just saw that you're a 10man, I dunno how many orbs spawn but something like this should also work for you dudes just gotta compensate. Just focus up on getting through the orbs. Fuck DPS, it doesn't matter too much if you guys just go through the orbs with ease. The rest of the fight is very easy and you'll do your dps there.

Also, WoW has been harder than FFXI in terms end game difficulty since AQ40. It got very easy during Wrath, and then kicked it back up in Cata.

like 5 orbs on 10 man, a pally can probably take 2 at a time bubble and rotate with mage iceblock

It's 2 orbs on 10 man, 5 in 25.

In 10, you can actually do a 3 person rotation with 2 orbs, which if you are running 3 healers for heroic means that none of your dps need drop their concentration during this phase. I've been thinking of suggesting this to my 10 man group who successfully enraged domo at 5%.

But that would require everyone to break from scorp in the same direction, and there's no way our dps is actually talented enough to do that.

Cata seems about same as wotlk for me in difficulty, unless you consider bg's trying to kill a 4K+ resil druid or disc priest... holy.. shit wtf ;/

2007 (TBC) WoW vs 2006 FFXI:

WoW: Harder game, much lower average skill level of end-gamers

FFXI: Easier overall, more "grindy" game resulted in the end-gamers being more coherent, mature, perhaps more skilled overall.

A lot of this has to do with the population of both games though. And there were some serious dumbasses on FFXI. Not even going to open that can of worms.
