Oh wow, my bad I thought it was Red/Blue, didn't check. I've not got my DPS set yet, been focusing on tank.

I'm not sure I said that exactly! All I'm saying is playing perfectly generally gets near sim results on a patchwerk-esque fight! I've never looked at P1 rag meters specifically, but as a whole you'll be way lower DPS on Rag. Between being unable to attack for like 10 seconds each phase change, having to stop DPS and wait for a seed for 15sec at end of p2, all the movement in p2 and p3, etc, you lose a decent bit of dps, and I'm not sure how good your gear is. P1 alone I guess should be pretty high, but no idea on that melee range knockback...if that gives you time off target + you're in parry range? That could drop it a decent bit...
The first step to anyone maximizing their DPS is on a target dummy, imo...sim yourself with no buffs (make sure you find a target dummy that HB won't extra ones on, and be sure the lvl matches the sim lvl) on a certain duration fight, then go fight a dummy for that same duration and see how close you are. You should really be within 500dps of the sim vs a dummy...tho admittedly it seems to me a frost DK may perform a little worse than other classes (relative to sim) just due to the nature of how KM can proc as you're already hitting a FS and consume it instead of being able to save it for Oblit. If you're getting close to what the sim is saying on a target dummy, there's nothing fundamentally wrong, just start adapting to the various fights. As a frost DK you want to be using every GCD, including if he knocks you back, even out of melee range. Pay attention to the knockback timer, and when you're being knocked back, if you're out of melee range, hit something during that 1-2 GCDs (HB-maybe save a Rime if it's a few seconds to a knockback, Outbreak, HoW if nothing else). Outside of that, I see no other way to optimize for Rag, maybe save PoF until right after a knockback and you're back on target. Little things like that can add up and make the difference of a few thousand DPS tho.
PoF makes you immune to his knock back, use it right before to maximize dps.
Whoops my bad, I don't actually play DK for real, for some reason I thought that was the glyph that did that and rooted you, and thought getting rooted wasn't worth glyphing it! In any case, it knocks back more often and you still want to GCD every time (my DK is like 353-359 ilvl and I only played it for a bit in heroics to buy bracers for my other chars, and have since stopped!).
you're both right, POF makes you immune, but the glyph roots you in place. The glyph just makes you immune to EVERYTHING that prevents control of your character. MC, disorient, etc.
It's also entirely useless, because I have yet to see a heroic fight or pvp match where it was ok to be rooted for 20 seconds.
Haha I'm so glyphing it so I can be excused for dying in a fire/shit.
