Did an alt run through FL tonight to get one of our main group caught up to Rag for tomorrow night. I finally got to kill something past Shannox with my Druid! Eventually ended up at Mojo-jojo and flame kitty scythe dropped. Woot!

6/7 hc now. guild leader immediately wanted to start on hc rag for "Server second" but since we skipped heroic rhyolith earlier we had to do normal. We then proceeded to wipe normal mode 4 times before getting it right.

Battered Hilt for 6k, aww yeah. I had already long given up on farming one after 40+ trash clears and just found this one on the auction :D. In fact, I probably made enough gold from disenchanting the greens and selling the frostweave cloth to pay for the 6k.

After being 0/7 for 5~ weeks or so with a new guild. (only guild on my server that raids at times I can make it to) Out of nowhere, we 1shot 6/7. Any tips for rag10m normal? We're not very geared, I'm highest geared person in the guild and my resto druid is only 372.

If gears was the only issue, you could probably beat Ragnaros easily in 359, but there is a good chance a few members of your guild have some difficulty with basic mechanics if you struggled for so long on normal mode.

Ragnaros is a 3 phase battle with 2 transition, and there is no easy method to win the fight other than executing the mechanics properly.

In a nutshell
Phase #1: Dodge the hammer and the fire wave that follow (1 wave in front and 1 on each side). Have someone who can nullify fall damage blow up the trap ragnaros shoot at you.

Phase transition: Ragnaros is replaced by 8 adds. Kill them before they reach the hammer or they will wipe the raid. You can slow them down with stun and snare, and by dropping them under 50% hp. Essentially, you just need to split your raid dos accordingly (1 dps per add, tank can kill one too)

Phase #2: Dodge the gigantic fire arc that cover 1/3 of the room, dodge the hammer.
You will want everyone gather on one side while staying 6 yard apart. When the seed spawn, have everyone run to a gathering point far away from the seed (we place it right in front of ragnaros in the middle). AoE the adds down. Rinse and repeat.

Phase transition: same as phase 1, but tank have to hold two adds that spawn in the back of the room. Blood lust when small adds are dead to finish off the big add asap.

Phase 3: Hammer is back. Arc of flame is back. There giant rocka that need to be kited across the place (if they get too close, use any range attack to knoc them back behind...just make sure to not do it on other players)
