Sounds like someone just likes to be different and debate other people on things that should not even be debatable.
Bet you're a hipster too.

Lol.

Actually, I shouldn't laugh since I feel sorry for you.
Why wouldn't anyone be mad? In the past when I have been hacked, or a friend, it was always on a friday and you couldn't get in touch with blizzard till monday. One time our GM got hacked in the top 100 guild I was in, and the guild was disbanded. This cost us in progression and we dropped back a few ranks because of it. No, we weren't mad at all, perfectly fine with it. GM had a high paying tech job as well.
Is your security better with a RSA token than without (y/n)
This is the only line of reasoning that actually matters in this discussion. If you don't care, you don't care. But there is no such thing as 'good enough' when it comes to security; only depends on the level of effort you want to apply. If you find an authenticator to be too much effort, then you are acknowledging that you are inherently less secure.
Failure probably argues with himself when no one else is around.
(Change of subject)
HAY GUYZ I got a FoS for logging in today ZOMG.![]()
I made 2 short posts and have hardly argued (don't worry, I'll start now just for you). It's definitely "better" to have one. People are just over-exaggerating the issue, and I'm saying it's not that big of a deal.
Profoundly better? Really? It's a video game where the worst case scenario is you can't log on for 2 days. I'm not saying it's not better to have 1, just that it's not a huge deal because a: if you get hacked it hardly matters, and b: it's still quite possible (and likely) to not get hacked.
Yes it is, nobody has said it isn't. You're also less likely to get in a car crash if you never leave your house. Clearly that means the correct call for security/safety is to never leave your house, right? (Yes, I realize the logical fallacy in my statement, there's also one in yours).
The first statement in this quote is wrong. The rest of your statement does not justify what you are saying. Yes, there is a point where extra security costs more money or takes more effort than the potential gain. This will vary from person to person. See above, the most "secure" way to ensure you are never in a car crash is to never go anywhere in a car. That does not make it the best option. Don't take this the wrong way though, I would still recommend to most people to get a security token (or get it on their phone). But to act like there's 0 negatives or loss of convenience associated (Friend had to go through a lot of extra effort because he switched phones and forgot about his token until after he lost the old one) is wrong, and to act like it's the end of the world if you get hacked is equally wrong. But there is no such thing as 'good enough' when it comes to security; only depends on the level of effort you want to apply. If you find an authenticator to be too much effort, then you are acknowledging that you are inherently less secure.
All I'm saying is who cares if someone doesn't have one, you guys are acting like it's the end of the world. Yet this entire line of posts is a response to a guy with an auth getting hacked and suffering no ill consequences from it, both of which seem to imply it's not the huge deal people are making it out to be.
In any case, I'm less secure and still have not been hacked once since WoW came out. And I've seen tons of others get hacked and they've laughed about it, made profit, and really suffered no ill consequences. I'm sure the GMs didn't appreciate having to go through and fix shit, but ya.
Back after 5 months and my guild gives me some FL BoEs to have an easy start. Always nice having a helpful people.
1-525 cooking for under 100g. fuck yeah pilgrim's bounty.
Multiplied by up to 24 other people who just might be depending on you to show up for a raid on one or both of those days.
Further multiplied by your access level to the guild bank, shorting them on those materials on the aforementioned guild events.
Oops sorry didn't mean to point out how badly you're understating something while accusing those around you of overstating the impact of a hacked account.
a. 10man.
b. It rarely takes 2 days anymore from what I've seen...looks like Badkarma didn't take 2 days either.
c. Really, short materials from the guild bank that are required for raid? Grasping at straws here man. Most people have cauldrons and feasts ready for the raid ahead of time from my experience...if not, a lot of people have flasks on them...if still not, a cauldron runs 300g on the AH, oh my god the loss! I'll go ahead and pay the person that pays the 300g back a day later when I get my gold back. God so much gold, whatever will I do being out that much? Oh also, some guilds just don't give bank access to people without authenticators.
Really, the biggest loss is IF it happens on a day you had a raid scheduled for a raid that wasn't farm (aka if it happened now it wouldn't matter, we use 1 of our 3 raid days for the week) and other people were relying on you being there. But even so we have 11-12 people in our 10man just incase people have something come up where they can't raid, so they may be able to manage anyway (and people are willing to play offspecs, so don't try to bring up a tank or something).
Risk Analysis is essentially how bad the consequences are times how likely they are to occur. I'm sorry but the chances are incredibly low (I won't say it's impossible for me to get hacked - that's dumb, but I don't think you have any grounds to argue that they are very low) and the consequences are well, inconsequential, making it overall really not important. If someone asked me, "Is it a good idea to get an authenticator?" then I'd say yes because well, there's not much loss either, but as I said, the shit you are saying here is ridiculous. "Profoundly better idea". No, I'm sorry, it's a marginally better idea that makes very little difference.
Don't worry, you don't need to apologize since the rest of this statement is false.Oops sorry didn't mean to point out how badly you're understating something while accusing those around you of overstating the impact of a hacked account.
Go to the vendor and get the book of recipes for like 20 silver. open it, it gives you 5 (6?) recipes that take you to 350ish skill if you cap them out. Each recipe is like 10 copper for materials so it's stupidly cheap. I've been waiting all year to cap cooking on my alt just for this.
