Oh sorry. You really think what you mentioned was the worst case scenario then? Why not have a huge power outage in California at the same time that lasts for 2 weeks (I think thats the limit for Blizzard restores) so I can't even get my character restored. And of course, after that the person who hacks my account RMT's some stuff, then Blizzard decides to try to make a civil case against me for violating TOS and there's 0 record of my account being compromised and....oh wait, am I being unrealistic here? My bad, but this scenario is worse than what you mentioned right?
You included the guild bank being compromised and it ruining a raid as a negative. Seriously? I'm sorry, not only is that not plausible, it's flat out not possible.
So go ahead and clue me in here - are we actually talking worst worst case scenario, or worst case scenario that actually may happen...
I guess I can go apply to a 25man guild with exactly 25 people where everyone has 10gold and I have full access to gold and materials in the guild bank. Yea, let me do that real quick, then we can go with what you said, which still isn't the worst case scenario if you really want to call me out on that.
Guild finally got ryho hc down... I'm officially 6/7 now and have completed glory of the firelands meta. Also at 140/250 essences. I might be the last to pass the finish line but at least it's still usefull in 4.3.
Fuck I love mining bots. 26g/stack elementium on the AH and I already have 311 inferno ruby ready for the patch. I'll easily get 200+g each inferno cut.
edit: volatile life stacks 2g per each. yoink! instant 3200 volatiles. those are 12-15 on a good day lol.
It's easily one of the harder ones if people are dumb, and one of the easier ones if people are smart yet terribly geared (It's honestly easier to do undergeared than Shannox if steering is done properly). It's just one of those fights where mechanics are more important and gear won't do a bit of good if mechanics are screwed up.
Well, this took fucking forever.

grats! my most recent achievement is my weekly mount runs:
no ony
no alar
no azure
no VoA mammoth
no Attumen horse
business as usual
My casual guild has had heroic shannox down for a bit and are 1/7, but since getting that down we've had trouble getting a full 10 people every week (school finals etc). So we're finally going to move on to other hardmodes, and gave rhyolith a shot, and it seems pretty far out of reach. It feels like we are just doing something wrong. We were doing rhyolith 2nd cause a lot of people said it was the 2nd easiest hard mode... but with the nerf, and being 10man, should we focus on other hardmodes first?
Unless volcanos and adds are done properly, you will take a ton of damages, and it's going to seem out of reach. It should become a lot more manageable when people do the mechanics properly
There is no simple way to do the volcano since it's a race against time. You have to be a little lucky with the placement, and they need to be destroyed in the same order they spawned (preferably). What worked the best for us is to set 3 melee dps on the legs to drive it, and have every other dps attack the legs evenly (one hit on left, one on the right, then repeat). It get really hard to control it otherwise.
Secondly, there is a pretty hard soft enrage in this fight after 5 minutes, so it's very important to push him out of it before. What we did is kill the first 3 big adds, then blood lust and burn it down (AoE the fragment). It's usually enough to push it to the 2nd phase, and then it's just a burn with a lot of raid dmg (use raid cooldown everytime it stomp)
You have to kill small ooze as well, but you can't really focus on them. Try to gather them using knockback, slow, and when they are packed, toss a few AoE on them. They have 100k hp so they die pretty fast.
[edit]
But yeah..if you guys were taking too much damage, it's the volcano driving that was the issue. Damage stack up pretty damn fast if you let them alive too long, so you can't really make any mistakes.

holy fuck fuck the barrel roll achieve.
Grtz izzy, nice to see another pyro mage in these dark times. Although I myself have gone full arcane and reforged ect for it, fire will definitely return come 4.3.
I'm at 150/250 essences now. Has really slowed down a lot due to new people and people on breaks, can hardly get two or more heroics down in a week now :<
Domo w/ the "cheese" method is up there, it's a semi long fight (hopefully you have the DPS to beat enrage...) but it's quite easy:
-2heal, not 3.
-Never take a slash, spread at 70 energy in Scorpion form.
-Do 5 jumps per cat phase.
-You'll get 2 seed phases (doesn't matter, use BoP on your highest caster DPS while you're collapsing before a seed phase to prevent the seed from applying and thus prevent the concentration reset).
-You'll get 2 fiery orb phases. This is the challenge to the fight...if you can deal with orbs, you should win.
-Random note on jumps....if ranged are maxish range and start moving right as he hits 100 energy, a leap targeting you will entirely miss, thus keeping full concentration.
This for sure, it's a pure "did we do it right" fight.
Can do 3 sparks, 2 fragment sets, then lust as 2nd fragment set dies, offtank/ignore the 4th spark...you may hit superheated midway in P2, but it should be manageable.Secondly, there is a pretty hard soft enrage in this fight after 5 minutes, so it's very important to push him out of it before. I strongly suggest against this unless you have nothing else to kill. It accomplishes little to nothing and is killable without ever touching them (and has been since before they got nerfed). You have to kill small ooze as well, but you can't really focus on them. Have 3 DPS steer and 3 DPS doing fragments+sparks. If you are able to 2heal (which is better imo), have the final dps switch between legs and sparks but ignore fragments.
I guess I made it sound like they should focus on them. All I'm saying is to cleave them down while fighting the legs, and use knockback/stun if you can stop them from merging back with Rhyolith. It's not worth it to shift your focus to the adds, but if you can spare one CD to prevent some from reaching the legs (usually when you're turning toward a group of ooze), it's generally worth it.I strongly suggest against this unless you have nothing else to kill. I don't know why you broke down the fight for me, I said we've been working on it, so we know the fight and know the mechanics.
When volcano's didn't spawn retarded, the driving was fine. It felt like we just either weren't doing enough damage, or had too much focus on adds, or had too many add phases. We aren't sure just when to push the boss, or how many to keep on adds/legs.
Thanks for the few tips though. Should we be focusing on rhyo/domo or are other heroics more within reach with the nerf? Our dps is typically good, and our members aren't typically retarded. Typically.
Our biggest problem is we lost a healer recently, and had to gear up another, and then lost our 2nd tank, and had to gear up another. It has really hindered us putting in good attempts. Really makes me hate this 10man casual shit and want to go back to the old days.
To help you find where the issue is maybe? You said it didn't seem manageable, so clearly, there is still some optimization left to do.I don't know why you broke down the fight for me, I said we've been working on it, so we know the fight and know the mechanics.

Bad volcano placement is going to happen, but it should be the exception rather than the norm. That's why I went over certain basic that are also crucial.
