sharded that thing for blood spirits week 1 cuz I'm only dpsing 1 fight and I don't wanna dual wield lol
Why exp to 15? Don't you mean 7.5? (Or is there any reason for double the amount?)
7.5% caps for dodge, 15% caps for parry.
some tard was trying to tell me that not only did i have to cap exp at 15 (as a hunter) but i also had to attack from behind, lest I get parried or dodged. because supposedly bosses have different mechanics or something.
it amused me, and i resumed attacking from wherever i damn well please with my dual 7.5 caps.
I think shooting for 15 exp is a bit difficult... at the expense of a lot of other stats due to diminishing returns... right?
Could ranged attacks get parried? The thought of a mob parrying bullets makes me chuckle. I know since the patch expertise became relevant, but I never thought they could parry a ranged attack. Dodge, fair enough.
The only reason Prot paladin needs to do it is so our holy power generators always hit and shield of the righteousness can have its highest up time. I personally hate the hell out of the system and hope it gets changed because making haste a more attractive stat than dodge or parry for a tank is stupid. I see no reason for any other class to put expertise over 7.5%. I didn't even think hunters used expertise period.
As far as I know, no, ranged attacks can't be parried. So shoot the mob in the face, the side of the face, the back of the face, wherever the hell you want. It wouldn't even make sense to have a ranged classes optimal spot to stand be right behind the boss in melee range.
Actually looking at the tooltip for our exp, it says nothing about parry, although it does when I check on melee classes. So there ya go.
Edit: How the hell did this become the random mists of pandaria accomplished complaint discussion thread?
Spoiler: show
Finally got my brewmaster two set. Also we pretty much took all the best players from our 25man and made an awesome 10man because people suck at elegon and full cleared MV in one night. God I missed 10mans.
No, Ranged attacks cannot be parried, aside from maybe a few that don't really count as ranged attacks. I think warrior and rogue have one or two like that. Hunter has 0 like that. Our pets can be parried, but they inherit hit/expertise differently than you'd expect, so it doesn't matter once you're capped. Each point in hit counts as a point of hit AND exp, and each point of exp counts as a point of hit AND exp, so by the time you get yourself capped, you pet is at 15 exp 15 hit. So your pet is unparryable. On top of that, unless your pet has threat, the AI will make it attack from behind anyway.
The change didn't really affect that much, tbh. Our hit cap was previously 18 or whatever the spell cap was, so instead of one big cap we just have to hit two little ones. The big difference is now there's fewer types of mail that can drop, which means what DOES drop is more likely to be useful. Positioning is still the same, since dodge is the same no matter where you're attacking from. Which is why I found that guy so amusing. Dodge doesn't work the way he was insisting. For anyone. Ever. When I said so, he tells me "bosses are different"
oh yeah, youre right. i was remembering wrath's 8% hit cap. Still, it amounts to the same thing, since they re-did the caps for 90. Two small caps instead of one bigger one.

Very cool event, great cause. Maybe not an accomplishment, per se, but easily one of the most fun things I've ever done in an MMO.
My screenshot sucks. All several hundred of us gathered on top of the Booty Bay bank and formed a heart, which was awesome. CRZ fucked it a little but it wasn't too bad.
EDIT: Found a good screenie of the heart.

I just found one of the Lost and Found BoA weapons in dread wastes, fucking stoked. Especially since it's 4:30 pm on sunday and I play on a populated realm.
Tier legs off a monday night Sha of Anger and Tina Mudclaw finally bought me some furniture, the bitch. Just Sho left and I can abandon just about everything about the Tillers.
