Are you doing the rent-a-friend promotion? You should definitely do that, it makes leveling through classic (and getting past shitty classic content) much easier and faster.

Vistani started like 9 days ago, we're already 70.

Holy moly haha. I am still in my 10 day trial, giving it an actual chance this time.

I tried rogue, it seems "ok " but not really my cup of tea, I tried a Druid and I'm already in love with it entirely at level 4. If I enjoy it on the 10th day, I will start over and upgrade to a full account, at this point though definitely going druid .

Shamgar is also playing again, I think I'm going to sign up and he will recruit me so we can both speed level up high, we're also on Diablokiller's server, he told us he'll solo our lowbie raids so we can get all our good gear.

The more I play this the more I wtf at spending so long in XI, looking back I feel it was so masochistic.

Lol so true. FFXI is archaic and needlessly hard in comparison. Druid is basically RDM with different forms. My 2nd favorite after DK.

You picked a strange class if you don't want to level slowly. Druid 1-20 was a nightmare painful for me. Killing in caster form then in bear was horrible.

Guess Druid would be a smooth transition though. Leveling hunter or paladin would be a mind fuck with how easy it is to level.

Druid is slow yeah, but it's probably best for him to get this over with now so he can play the class when it starts to get good. I'd agree druid is closest to red mage, except far more excellent at pretty much everything, you just have to change your spec instead of gear/subjob.

If you are enjoying the first few levels of WoW as long as you can ignore the retards all over the place you'll enjoy the game more and more as you level up. As Aurik said, Classic content is pretty shitty. Outland is a bit better, questing is formed better, Northrend is simply amazing and a lot of fun. I only ever took 2 toons to 70 in BC...I already have 3 at 80, lol.

I can say with absolute confidence that every class I've played has been slow 1-20. Druid is no exception and it gets soooo much faster at 20 and only accelerates by leaps and bounds the further up you go.

I started lvling my druid on saturday this week... didn't seem to slow to me (no power lvling/instance running)

I'm at Lv 42 now after 4 days, seems to go pretty well, although I dread anything not outlands/wotlk... can't wait to get to outlands and lvl faster, having quests spreadout in multiple map zones is annoying as hell

oh and as recent accomplishment, finally got Fury of the 5 flights trinket... now I just need to get more hit rating that I've totally raped.

I rolled with some friends on Detheroc from my last linkshell I was ever in, and we still find ourselves talking about FFXI on occasion after all this time. Our other guildmates hear our reminiscing on vent sometimes and those who never played XI usually listen in aghast.

lol, I think the good and bad memories will stay forever, and I'm very glad that XI was my first MMO, as I don't think it could ever get harder than that.

I just can't wait to be all high level like you guys so I can understand even half of what you are all saying about spec and twink and all that other funny babble.

haha yeah looking back at some stuff... its really crazy, god I remember the 24+ hour fafnir mpk fest/battle had of nidd.. and all he dropped was like 2-3 crystals after he died ;/

I still miss mithra though... even after 4-5 years? of not playing ffxi, thats why I run a site... with the mithra stuff! (Hell I think 80% the ffxi gallery I have is mithra >.>)
