fuck 10man 3d sarth. such a hectic fight. Our druid accidentally taunted sarth off of me at 40-50% or so when all the drakes were dead, and i was just picturing him breathing the raid and wiping us. thank god we finally got it over with.

I agree, we just spent our first real tries on it with a decent group. 2 Healers, 2 Tanks with a DK dps spec/tank gear for adds. Healers were me and a holy pally, and I can safely say that was the most fun/fucking toughest thing to heal in wotlk, it felt like I was back in pre-nerf non pussy shit raids again. now to suicide in a OS pug and instead of getting 6min4 seconds, get 6min on malygos and I'll never have to use this baby:

yea we did the same thing with 2 tanks and 2 healers...sorta. DPS DK on adds with a disc priest and resto shaman, although our DK actually tanked the adds in DPS gear as well. we also had a ele shaman in healing gear help heal after the first drake.

i think the only additional healing outside us was underscore sent out chain heals with maelstrom weapon while they were in the portals for the 3rd drake. sucks now that we gotta get everyone else into these runs so more people get titles.

Screw your 80 and epic mount, I hit 30 and have a basic mount + travel form (and lost half of my money in the process )! Also did some lowbie raids today with my lvl80 friend AoE'ing with Fan of Knives, great fun, got a lot of useful gear and sellables.

Also me and my friend who's levelling duo with me on his pally realised how amazingly easy it was for him to kill 4 mobs at once with me just curing him, so I moved around most of my talent points, took everything out of feral and moved them to the other two to bump up cures. Me hearty cures.


Also what add ons do you guys reccomend I get from looking at my screenshot? Anything good for healers that will flash a big thing on my screen saying "<PERSON>'S <BUFF> WORE OFF" or something like that? I'm having a bit of problems keeping extended buffs on people due to me not paying attention to when they wear off because I don't see it in the small chat log.

There's a FP there somewhere, not sure where the alliance one is though. Horde is by the tunnel. And no, there isn't much use for non-druids besides a part of AQ chain.

Wafik: Shouldn't really need to watch other people's durations, as long as you buff yourself and them around the same time you should be good. Unless you mean HoT duration and stuff, I'm not sure which addon is best for that.

yah I meant HoT durations (well as well as other things like thorns/mark of wild) but I found one called DoTimer and it does everything I want! woo.

Some addons I like:
Prat 3.0 - Addons - Curse - Chat addon, adds some features to chat window like timestamps, showing name in class color, level..etc

Skinner - Addons - Curse - Makes most windows look 10x nicer (imo)

ag_UnitFrames - Addons - Curse - Unit frame mod, I used to use xperl until I found this. Personal preference in the end I guess

The alliance FP is on the road in the middle south of the zone. The only other thing I can think of that you might need from moonglade is a few crafting recipes are sold therethat get used when pling their respective crafts.

Works with smartbuff, easy way to decurse/poison people

works for every class, has some preset stuff on it.

Might take some time to get used to it but once you do, its pretty awesome mod imo, i use it on all 8 of my characters to do buffing that requires basically no thinking on my part


Its default setting I think is set to "rebuff" at 20sec

Just started the other day again, up to 11 Druid. Also, what is that bar addon that's at the top of your screen Wafik? And the one that changes the box with your Health/Mana?

None of the UI addons I've come across have been very attractive to me. :/ I find myself using the default one, with just Omen running during dungeons, but after the run I have a bit of a headache because my eyes are darting around the screen.

I want something that keeps the feel of WoW's UI (I like the graphics and such) but gives me the same general "where to look" as FFXI did.

For example, all the party members' pertinent information (that was available for us on FFXI) was down by their name: HP(and bar), MP(and bar), and TP(lol TParty). It would be nice to see the same in WoW, adding buffs and debuffs both without having to mouseover and not so small, but without some *massive* UI change.

I think the thing I miss the most, though, is a useful combat log. I can't figure out how to configure it to see what I want to see, without seeing a shitload of extraneous crap (I don't fucking wanna know every time someone moves in and out of my Ret Aura...).

I really should just spend the time to code my own...

Edit: And the Tank's name should be in red (assigned by the user of course). And the healer's in green. I hate trying to remember who our tank and healer is at the start of a run. <_<

You're just going to have to l2unitframes. The default blizzard UI truncates past a certain number of buffs/debuffs and is really bad at showing icons at a reasonable size. Addons like pitbull/aguf have nightmarishly complicated config schemes but once you get the hang of it you just need to save it to a profile and you're set for your whole account.

Tanks can be set by raid leaders in the default raid interface, but it's up to you to configure your unit frames to recognize them. I'll have to double check tonight (I don't play a healer) but I think there's a draggable 'tank' sub-tab from the Raid info tab when you're in one that'll only contain those players marked as Tanks. Ditto for Assists.

There are some raid addons that take care of this for you, but I'm not very familiar with them. The one I see most often brought up is oRA2.

Aha ok, sorry about the derail!

As for recent accomplishments, I didn't get the Fists of Loken I wanted last night, but running through HoL a second time got me ~1850 DPS (up from ~1500 the night before) with slightly less buffs, it gets a lot easier when you know what the fuck the mobs do.

Now I just need to learn what all the mobs do in all the different dungeons, then I can run some heroics. <_<

If you have a gaming mouse, I think one of the side buttons is auto run by default too. There should be General tip thread like the one for FFXI.
