95% sure the haste buff is only for the party they're in--I've never seen myself with it, and I've never gotten the achievement despite knowing that we've had them MC'd

It used to be, it was changed last week to be raid wise. Hugggeeee nerf to the fight tbh, healers with 20% Haste makes a lot of it trivial.

Yep, changed to raid wide last week.

That incorporated with Unbalancing Strike being on next attack and knowing where you can stand so his lightning never hits you makes his hard mode a joke now.

Yet still, my raid group thinks missing 1 spreist is going to be such a detriment that the one person's dps counters having 20% haste to everything on everyone (oh and they can still attack while inside too yeah?).

Spoilers : We haven't downed thorim on 25 man yet :S I'm gonna try convincing them again, hell I would love the haste buff on the fact alone that it'll somewhat counter the slow from the hammer.

With regards to 25 man, I actually asked our Shadow Priest to stop doing it when we started because keeping threat off him when it broke required more effort that I wish to exert on one person in the arena. Of course, it was only party wide then so it was only semi-helpful, but we've managed every one of our kills on 25 man without one.

On 10 man, we did every hard mode kill but last weeks without bothering with MC. Some were close but it was always the ridiculous tank deaths that fucked over our attempts, not DPS.

The Shadow Priest controlling the dude will actually put out around 6k DPS just spamming it's lightning bolt attack. I'm pretty sure that's more than most Shadow Priests would be doing on Thorim but even if it's not, the 20% haste to everyone puts rDPS through the roof regardless.

Yeah on our HM Thorim tank deaths were pretty nuts. We tried saving our cooldowns until about the 3rd or 4th switch which occurred around 30% usually but even then you get some crazy 2 hits before you can even taunt off. Got him to under 100k one attempt too, so close. I had no idea an SPriest could MC an add for the fight, I wonder if my group knew. Then again we probably needed the priest as Disc anyway for MT heals considering our comp.

That's exactly what happened to me trying to MC the dude. Got the aura up and wailed away, but when MC broke I died almost right away.

I do the MC in our guild and its not too bad if you and your healers know what they're doing. First of all, don't let the MC timer wear; when the timer is around 2 seconds left, break your MC by casting PW:S on yourself. Secondly, and probably most importantly, wear PVP gear. The mobs are level 81, you don't need shit for hit to MC them. Having 24k HP, a PW:S, and 900 Resilience makes taking 1-2 hits a nonissue as you re-MC them. Just make sure you put a focus on the mob so you can start casting again quickly.

i dont think any of us knew HEH our composition was kinda shaky having a not-so-geared dps and not-so-skilled healers but we'll def have it next week. i say next week cuz i wont be able to make it this friday sad face

After watching the vid on mmochampion about those 2 guys duoing flame leviathan my guild lead and i decided to go try it. Was able to get it down to 75% after about 5 attempts. Going to try again more in the coming days. Definitely seems doable, but we think our iLevel of our gear is a little low; our demolisher hp has only around 680k. Should be fun to try.

Got Worldcarver last night. I had Death's Bite previously which I had for... 25 weeks total. We saw all of 1 Betrayer drop during the 19 weeks we ran Naxx before Ulduar came out.
