Exactly my point. Oh well it does not happen that often even playing with random people. Usually only once per night.

Seriously, I'm having fun with this game whether my team is getting absolutely destroyed or if we're tearing it up. I hate that people have to turn a generally fun, easy-going game into a competition fagfest, but I guess that's just the nature of some people, which is whatever lol. Different strokes for different folks.
It is ultimately a very fun game and I cannot wait for the DLC to come. More VS. maps is awesome!
One of the first times I played a larger group it pitted me and my best friend against my boss and 3 of his friends. As soon as we got done bitching and they left the apartment it spawned my friend as the tank and he swiped the car and took all 4 out in one hit. It was the most glorious thing I have ever seen.
Spoiler: show
I'd like a single-player Versus so I can practice not sucking as infected.
Playing as the infected gets easier as you get used to it. I fucking hate playing as the boomer. But I've gotten a LOT better at using it lately. It's very rare when I puke on them and don't hit at least three of them. But for my money I would much rather be the smoker. Although leaping like sixty feet through the air with the hunter is pretty fucking fun. We were playing on No Mercy and I was trying to catch up to Louis who fell behind. I leapt off the building right where you come out before the elevator lift and fucking nailed him as he ran past the tractor trailer. It was awesome.

Honestly a lot of it is dumb luck. If you misjudge your jump you're going to land right in front of them. Or if they are far enough away they can pick you off in mid air. I've found it's easiest to attempt it when the survivors are close to a building or truck etc. The obstructions are handy for when you overshoot, most of the time you may take a hit or two but you can scurry back to safety relatively easily.
As to the whole aiming of it. It's just kind of eyeballing and hoping. I've had the most luck when I'm "aiming" at about a 45 degree elevation. Any higher and you're just kind of launching yourself up but now forward. It takes some getting used to but after a while you should be able to judge what elevation you need to aim to land on one of them. On Blood Harvest I was sitting on top of the one house right before the railroad bridge and I leapt down onto one straggler when he was all the way at the other house down below.
Probably couldn't do it again, but it had my team in awe lol. And I haven't forgotten about the Black Sheep image, I'm having a hard time finding it. I'm thinking the wife may have "accidentally" deleted it because she hated that movie.
PC version only, I guess. I always forget there is a 360 version to L4D.
YouTube - Left 4 Dead - How to play versus on Death Toll or Dead Air Campaign
Edit: The video doesn't mention it, but you can have a full 8 people. Just start the game as a versus map, then do the console commands to switch it over. The extra 4 people will be tossed into spectator mode, so you'll have to do the command to activate human controlled infected, then they can change team and play 4v4.
It will be a non issue as soon as the DLC comes out because they will officially be added as versus modes for both pc and xbox which will be great. No more tricks to fake a versus mode on those maps.
Still, I'm just saying that this DLC is really fucking lazy
Yeah the DLC should be adding a huge map pack along with the new mode and all the maps should be unlocked for vs. and co-op. Really there should be way more maps than there are.
Am I missing something here? I get my ass handed to me by people in versus most times, especially as the special infected. No seriously, I'm crouched as a hunter, I pounce, and I hit the person, and he just kind of stands there....
Fuck...
If you're in close quarters as a hunter (say NM4), and survivors are up near a wall or in a corner, you can avoid the melee-spam and pounce on them if you aim above their heads. If you're in an open area then just go for pounce dmg imo, and if you miss your jump gtfo unless you know you can incapacitate one before rescuers come.
wooooot
