I got like 9:58 on the Farmhouse for Blood Harvest. I've never heard four people (myself included) cheering "you can do it man! only five more seconds! We got this! WE GOT THI............................................... ............................*sigh*"

Similar thing happened to my friend, my boss and I. We were doing Rooftops from NM for the first time, and about at our sixth try we were nearing silver, figured we had it, but were trying to stay alive and clock stopped at 06:59:97.

I've got a pretty good strat for farmhouse. The rafters in the barn may be voulnerable to smokers, but any tank that comes up from the bottom just gets peppered and dies before he pulls himself up. If it comes along the top it usually falls down while running across the rafters.

just found a really useful console command for l4d. when you're the leader of a group, before you look for a server, type

sv_search_max_ping 100(or a lower number, may take longer to find a server.)

i did it with 75 today and everyone in the group had less than 100 ping. it was QUITE snazzy.

I played Left 4 dead for the 360 and enjoyed it but I'm getting a new PC soon and would like to know if the PC and 360 versions are different?

Also what is this new mode people are talking about? I rented Left 4 dead before they added new stuff and I would like to know what they added and if there are any new weapons.

It's basically the same game with ridiculously better controls. The changes are subtle.

I was told you can do eight player survivor mode without any safe rooms and you just go through the whole map is that true?

Probably the same mod that enabled 12 player campaign too, although I've only played on the 8 player campaign servers.

I tried downloading the trial for l4d but I get a firefox message. Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (steam) isn't associated with any program. Any idea's on what I need to do?

It's time for the one day trial to be up but every time I click launch it goes to a black screen then back to my stream game list. Is it just too many people playing at the moment or is there a problem on my side?

Sounds like the game is having a problem potentially.....

Right-click the game within Steam, go Properties. Click Command Line (or whatever the button is called, Command something....) and enter "-novid -window" (without quotations) and see if it runs after that.
(L4D plays a video after setting the screen mode before the game itself loads, -novid will skip the videos entirely as I'm assuming they're potentially the problem, perhaps by a bad video codec installed on your system)

Just tried it and it skips the whole black screen which looks like progress but now a l4d window pops up for a second and closes
