I think he's referring to Civil War, where Starks and Captain American were enemies. Wasn't Captain America shot (but not by iron man) or something? I didn't read all of Civil War, so I'm not really sure what went on >.>

Captain America beat the shit out of Iron Man during the Civil War, but then he turned himself in. Shortly after this he was shot by a sniper like 4 times.

The Avenger's is a superhero organization, not the civil war. No idea if they could even do a civil war movie. If they did...they'd probably HAVE to make a trilogy with it. But the Avenger's is basically a group like the X-men, but I believe they came before the X-men and are more popular, powerful and cooler.

unfortunately thor, cap, hawkeye, hank pym are all 6foot plus and blond. they will probably take some liberties with their appearances to help the audience differentiate between the characters. still thor will probably be big and blond, i just hope they dont fuck it up and make him retarded looking like juggernaut in X-men 3

This Avengers, like many of the other recent Marvel movies (Spiderman, Iron Man, X-Men to a less extent) will be more like the Ultimate version released by Marvel more recently, in which the Avengers will be various superheroes ("superheroes" is a TM owned jointly by Marvel Entertainment and Detective Comics, which I am using as reference and not to challenge the TM) who are brought together by S.H.I.E.L.D. to combat a villainous terrorist organization (like Cobra, but without the Baroness) intent on global domination or some such thing. Thor's powers in this iteration are extraterrestrial or -dimensional in origin, so he technically qualifies as an alien, and a god, kind of like Stargate. I never paid much attention to Thor because I wasn't really into metal when I was younger, but I could see them solidly spinning a decent action movie out of the character, if only to build up to Avengers. I'm kind of certain that Thor in the normal Marvel universe was a scrawny guy who hit his walking cane into the ground and became Thor. This was because Odin felt Thor was too arrogant and so he wanted to teach his son a lesson. I think that kind of story with frost giants and Loki would be an entertaining action movie. Also, I cant find the press release but its scheduled to come out the same year as Iron Man 2, I think.

I'm still more excited for the Wolverine movie. Deadpool!!

they finally revealed him to be a god (to the ultimate universe) towards the end of grand theft america story arc. i think you are right with them taking on the whole ultimates angle of things. ultimate hawkeye ftmfw
