Ammo was scarce at like the 10 hour point in the game, but once you start rolling in caps, you can buy so much ammo it's not even funny. I usually have 500+ Shotgun shells, 1k+ 5.56 rounds, and was up to 5k 5mm for awhile, until I actually started using the minigun (even with skill in the 20s, it just mows down waves of people if you use it in Standard FPS mode)

My major problem was that the only ammo Moira was stocking in any quantity was 5.56mm, and I hadn't found an assault rifle yet. Found mine in the elementary school by Megaton, although I've heard that they're common in the Super Duper Mart too. Speaking of that elementary school, is there anything under it besides a bunch of giant ants? I was in a hurry cause it was late, but I just got to a chamber with a few ants and no apparent exit, and I was wondering if there's more to that, because it seemed like an awful lot of digging.

I haven't really ever had ammo issues, though I pretty much open every possible container searching for it.

Question for the evil based players. I plan on playing through my next game like this, but I'm curious about something. Obviously, when you blow up megaton you no longer have access to the house.

Is there another residence for evil characters? I know when I let the Ghouls take over Tenpenny tower there was an inaccessible room on the top floor which was marked as "Your something something". The ghouls wouldn't give me a key for it and I couldn't find a key on Tenpenny or anywhere in his room. Does he give it to you for clearing out the Ghouls?

I haven't done it myself, but I think either Burke or Tenpenny give you access to that room after you blow up Megaton

I'm more curious about how far up your karma and progression in Megaton quests can go until Burke stops offering you the choice to blow up the town.

Another question for anyone that did it...Can you enter Megaton after blowing it up to loot bodies and such? I'm thinking when I do it I'll kill the city first, then blow it up so I can get the Sheriff's hat and such.

For ammo, i had problems early on too, i even ran out completely at one point and had to punch shit. I suggest sticking with the main quest for a bit. This gives you exp, typically lots of monsters with ammo or caps. Think of it this way, at lvl 1 it might take 40 shots to kill a monster that at lvl 20 takes you 1 shot to kill it. By leveling, you reduce the necessity of bullets alot, and can really start to stock em up. Also, rivet city is a great place to get ammo compared to megaton. (The megaton armory never opened for me...ever)

Do the mines in the minefield respawn? I collected about 10 of them and promptly wasted them fucking around, went back the next day and they weren't there.

If you are having ammo problems at the start, and don't mind losing a little Karma, kill Lucky Harith's Caravan (should be around entrance to Megaton at the start). Buy a rocket launcher off him and take out his guard quickly, then finish him. Gave me a ton of caps + ammo + weapons + his hat which is Barter +5. Helps a ton for the early quests.

Best way I've found to deal with Deathclaws (and most annoying creatures ie Mirelurks / Bears) is the Android's Plasma rifle. It seems to rape them, just turns them to goo in 2-3 shots no matter where you hit.

Is there anyway to get the STR bobblehead from Lucas Simm's House...after you blow it up? lol...think I screwed myself over there.

You can also do the Wasteland Survival Guide series and take everything the raiders carry, lots of ammo/weapons/gear and you can sell stuff for caps too.

There is a ton of ammo and guns etc in the Chrysulus building which is just a little bit north/northwest of Super Market. There are a good number of super mutants in there though so make sure you have the firepower and medical power to make it through. Really pretty much any large building you go in is going to have a sufficient supply of ammo and weapons. Just taking the time to find them all and being thorough is the key.

    Love this game.

If you can convince Moira to stop writing her guide, there's a chance you'll get a special perk that lowers the chance of enemy's getting a critical hit on you by 50%. Oh, and she gives you like a 25% discount too.

If you end up taking the quest from Abraham Washington at the Capitol Preservation Society to recover the Decleration of Independence, make sure to stock up on pulse grenades and pulse mines. Once you get past the super mutants, it's all robots from there.

When you finally get to the vault with the documents, throw on any +Speech gear you have since you will talk with a robot (who thinks he's one of the signatories of the Declaration, it's a pretty funny conservation) and there's an option if you're nice to the robot to trick him into giving you the document without a fight. You can also loot a powered wig that has some nice stats like Barter+1 and some +Speech and +Charisma, great for when you do your trading.

I'm kind of pissed I sold off Lincoln's Repeater before I even tried using it. I wonder if I can steal it back from the Capital Preservation Society or if I'll have to pickpocket Washington for his key to get it.

There is a skill book down there with the ants near what looks like ant eggs. Other than that, I don't think there is anything of real intrest there.

Well, I found my dad last night and he said that we needed to go to Rivet City, so I figured he'd join me as an NPC and I could Fast Travel there...

Zone out into the Wasteland and the fucker sprints off towards Rivet City. Motherfucker was actually gonna run there >< Asshole ran right into a group of Radscorpions too.

Thought I'd be clever and Fast Travel only to find out the dick was still where I left him running back.

Had to cripple both his legs just to catch up to let him know I'd meet him in Rivet. No way I'm running from one side of the map to the other.

Also had the misfortune to run into a Super Mutant patrol that was ambushed by Radscorpions mid-firefight, who were then in turn ambushed by Yu Guai. That was a hectic 5 minutes.

Just talk to him and tell him you have to go, then fast travel and he'll be there.

I did that, but I had to catch the son of a bitch first, hence the leg crippling.

He just sped off without me soon as we were outside.
