Official Fallout 3 Spoilers/Hints/Strategy Thread™

Fallout 3 DLC came out "early", via Marketplace on the web. Already downloaded and finished it (first in the world according to MGC).

Took about 2 hours, but I rushed through it. It's pretty easy, as there are many places for you to completely restore your health and ammo as much as you need. Was still fun, and I'll probably run through it again, to get all of the intel(hidden items, of which there are 10. I'm assuming getting them all will get you the new perk, which I did not receive).

Any idea when it'll be available for the PC?

I thought it was supposed to come out the same time as the 360 version.

I maybe whooshed myself earlier, but I didn't realize the DLC was already available for PC. You have to download the Live marketplace for Windows client and it's on there in a fairly obvious manner. I only figured this out because of an obscure reference on Bethesda's blog. So all of you PC gamers can actually get the DLC.

The catch is holy fuck live marketplace on PC sucks ass. You don't even get an executable to download. I didn't try figuring out where the hell it was placed, but it just downloads, installs for you, and you're done. No way to back it up that I could tell offhand. (I did get it off blackcats since I like not having to redownload things all the fucking time. Habit from my 56k days.) I mean, the whole thing 'works'? But god it's clunky, shitty, and a de-evolution of how content has been released on this platorm for the last DECADE. Eugh.

With all that said, the DLC is pretty fun. Not the epix adventure is was made out to sound like, but still really solid and worth the money for sure.

So I've spent the last week or so playing through it again, to make a better built character. I took the Comprehension perk, and I'm just a few skill books away from having all stats at 100. Unfortunately, I used the respawning Raider to get my Big Guns to 100 "quickly", and I guess since I waited so much I voided the Trouble on the Homefront quest. At least there was nothing important there besides the Rock-It Launcher schematic.

Also, The Pitt DLC has been delayed until early March, and Broken Steel has been delayed til sometime in April. At least there will be plenty of other stuff to play in the coming weeks!

When did they fucking add trophies for the ps3? I beat this game 3-4 times and I just noticed they had trophies added. Fucking shit...normally I don't care about trophies, but the fact that I played this game to death and NOW they add it in pisses me off for some odd reason.

The Pitt DLC is now available on 360. Downloading now, but probably won't play til tomorrow, really need to get to sleep.

So are the VATS Accuracy perks and Ninja perk problem just a PC issue or is it across all platforms?

I tried playing the expansion this morning and it was painful. Had one load screen last about 5 minutes. Once I got to the new Pitt area a ton of the graphics were glitched, so the just appeared as red boxes with exclamation points in them. Twice the game completely froze up within 5 minutes of entering new area, so stopped trying to play after the second time.

Also unsure about the level cap being raised, killed several people in new area but it still showed me at capped XP.

Still need to finish the main story on my second character, and I'm debating on whether to hunt down the remaining skill books to get everything to 100, or just assume (hope) that skills won't go past 100, and they give us more points up to level 30.

it's on all platforms afaik but there are mods for the PC version that fix it

What is this Broken Steel about? I cant get to the links from work and i am curious. This is the first i have heard of it.

It takes place shortly after the game's ending, about the continued conflict between the Brotherhood and the Enclave. It raises the lvl cap to 30, adds a new weapon, and a new area based on Arlington Nat'l Cemetary removed from the rest of the fallout world. The story supposedly clocks in as longer than The Pitt. I think there are new perks too, I'm not sure.

I'm very interested to see how they are going to change the ending in order for you to keep playing. Who here thinks Sara Lyons is toast when you get to the purifier lol.

They're probably just going to add a "radiation dump" objective to the final mission and change Lyons' AI to not let you head in there yourself before so.

Should be out in about 14 hours! I'm hoping it'll come out on the Marketplace website early like Operation Anchorage, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
