If I were to compare DLCs to Oblivion, I wouldn't say any of what's been released has been as much of a waste as Horse Armor, although I tend to think that for the most part Oblivion DLC was more appropriately priced.

Broken Steel and Point Lookout, for me, are the only ones worth a full 800 points, I'd say O:A and The Pitt are worth ~560 ($7) at the most. But even still, I still feel a bit sore paying over $130 for fallout when all is said and done.

I guess you could make the same argument that was made for Oblivion though, that you can pick and choose DLC to suit your particular character, but part of me wishes they would have withheld 3 of the Fallout DLCs and just released a full-fledged expansion.

Anyway these are minor complaints and to a certain extent Oblivion comparisons are unfair, however apt, maybe just a function of my newfound gaming frugality feeling like I could have saved so much money if I had just waited to play Fallout 3 until the GOTY edition was released.

Mothership Zeta interview at OXM - The Vault, the Fallout wiki - Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas and more

So when and where does Zeta fit into the events of Fallout 3? How will players discover the Mothership?
As with the previous DLC, there will be a radio broadcast... this one is unintelligible, however, and will lead the player to the alien crash site they may have already found in Fallout 3. The player will then find themselves aboard Mothership Zeta, in Earth's orbit. Let's just say it won't be the friendliest of greetings. From there, they'll meet other abductees, and plot their escape. They'll have to explore and exploit the alien ship- and even spacewalk to escape!

We've already seen the Alien Blaster in Fallout 3 - will there be new technology for gamers to play with?
Most definitely. The player will have a handful of tasty alien technologies to play with. There are new fire arms and melee weapons, which will comprise the most powerful weaponry in the game.

IGN posted that they announced the date for Mothership Zeta..

    August 3rd

Also listed the new weapons in the news (I'd post the url but I cant look at IGN at work). Sounds like tons of energy weapons. Some nice pics of you on the ship and seeing the earth outside. Got plenty of waiting to do..

    Next week, FFXI update
    Following week, MvC2
    Week after that, Mothership Zeta

Makes me glad I quit my LS so I got time for all this goodness

Even if this is the last dlc for Fallout 3, I can't be mad at that. Bethesda has done a fanfuckingtastic job with Fallout and additional content. They listened to the fans and changed the ending just to enable free play. They continued to pump out dlc after dlc. If that is indeed the last one, I say job well done Bethesda.

I'm hoping this is the last bite sized DLC, and they work on putting out a full fledged expansion, and call it at that. I would be more than satisfied.

    They are

    FALLOUT: New Vegas

Though you won't be able to transfer your character, though its really had its run for its money at this point.

New Vegas isn't going to be an expansion, it's going to be it's own stand alone game (Fallout 4, Basically)

I heard the PS3 DLC is coming out this week I think.

Is it me or is Bethesda being a little bitch when it comes to the ps3? they've screwed us over twice already regarding the dlc on both games this gen and expect us to gobble it up once they feel like releasing it.

Pretty sure it was pushed back to September.

and yes, it's a complete crock of shit. I'll probably wind up buying the 5 DLC bundle.

I don't know if this has been asked, but did they confirm that your previous characters done on fallout3 would be GOTY compatible? Just curious.... could be a /true/ way to push people to buy DLC individually on PS3. (which I don't plan to do)

Fallout is one of the very few games that I will probably never get rid of. There's only a handful of games that I have that are truly untouchable. Fallout 3 is one of them. The others are CoD4, Dead Rising, Yakuza, and Yakuza 2. Given that I have probably over fifty games between the 360 and the PS2, that's not a real high number.

Just a friendly reminder that Mothership Zeta comes out next week....

I really wish they do a full expansion similiar to how Oblivion had Shivering Isles, and have it deal with the Commonwealth. They've been mentioned on more than one occasion, and it would be awesome to see this game continue. This has been probably one of my favorite experiences in a video game ever.

Anyone else notice that Fawkes is INSANELY hard to kill? It literally took me 10-20 minutes (hell maybe 30) to kill him with all of my skills at 100 and unloading over 5000 bullets into him. I thought maybe it was a bug specific to my 360 but I played at a friend's and he had the same thing. We took Fawkes to the Citadel and unleashed his melee fury on the brotherhood and they couldn't knock him down any. We killed Jericho, Charon, and Star Cross with no problem, though. Although, none were our followers at the time and just running around their respective towns. I even let Fawkes take on 2 Albino scorpions, a deathclaw, and a super mutant behemoth on his own and that finally knocked him down a notch because the behemoth had him pinned on the ground for 3 minutes. Going to go grab some other follower and see how hard they are to kill. And oshi Zeta but I have work tomorrow...

I dont get how the new Mothership Zeta is even remotely related to the Fallout franchise. Still looks fun, but i dont get how it falls under the Fallout name - kind of ruins the illusion that Fallout 3 created.

Unless it's related to the main game? I've not done much research tbh :/

Theres always been a crashed UFO in the game. Its one of the rare places to find an Alien Blaster gun. So they just expanded on where the UFO came from. I cant wait to play it when I get off work. Had my 360 d/l it right when I left.
