First time through I got the critical perk and loved it. Only problem is, when you get a crit with laser weapons you turn people into dust and lose the items. So I kept losing my items when I used my laser weapons.

I have to say I am a bit disappointed with the laser weapons though. They have a LOT of ammo but are weaker. Didn't notice I had that much ammo at first either, I ran out of my shotgun ammo and switched over to laser pistol and had 2000+.

What final perk did you guys pick at level 20?

For the most part I found myself picking the perk to add to my "SPECIAL".

I haven't gotten to 20 yet but imo Grim Reaper's Sprint (All AP restored when you kill someone while in VATS mode) is a no brainer for the final perk. You could plow thru waves of enemies before they even had a chance to blink with that perk.

I agree. I had heard most the last perks were great but that is the only one that interested me. A lot seem to like the perk that shows all the locations but by the time I got to 20 I had discovered them all on my own.

Anybody ever actually use their caps? I'm a money whore and I spent so much time building up. Finished the game with almost 30k I think and I don't recall EVER having bought anything from a shop. I am a huge penny pusher and it carried over into the game.

My money supply has slowly been increasing, but I usually buy every piece of .308, 5.56, and Shotgun ammo from every vendor who carries them. It's nice having 1300 rounds of ammunition for my Assault Rifle so I never have to worry about it.

Do mines in the minefield respawn? I managed to pick up about 9 of them in my first go around (along with the sniper from Arkansas) and literally spent an hour in Super-Duper Mart planting them on the ground and having the raiders walk past them and getting their limbs blown to hell. I'm about 4 hours in and I've done only two quests from Moira

    - Butch (Childhood Friend) Complete the Quest: Trouble on the Homefront and be sure Butch is alive and the Overseer has stepped down or died, or you've sabotaged the Vault. Goto the Muddy Rudder bar in Rivet City. Talk to him and he should easyily join you regardless of Karma.
    - Sergeant RL-3 (Robot) Purchase him from robot salesman called Mister Tinker, he randomly roams the area around Robco factory. He will only stick with you if you have a neutral Karma
    - Fawkes (Super Mutant) you meet him in Vault 87, you must help him escape his cell in there and he will get the G.E.C.K. for you in the radiation filled room. Says he hopes your paths cross again some day and is on his way. However you are captured in Vault 87 by a opposing force, skipping ahead a bit trying not to ramble, once you escape from your captors he will be outside with his big ol' minigun waiting to greet you. No karma required.
    - Star Paladin Cross (Brotherhood Hammer Swinger) Once you go into the Citadel for the first time if you speak to her and you have good Karma she will join you. If your karma reverts to neutral or bad she'll head back to the Citadel.
    - Jericho (Retired Mercenary) if you blew up Megaton sorry you can't get him he is dead. You must have bad Karma, tell him to get back out there as a mercenary and to join your crew. However, he will need 1000 caps for supplies. Worth it in my opinion that Chinese Assault rifle is beautiful.
    - Clover (Brainwashed Slave) Gain access to Paradise Falls through no violence and speak to Eulogoy Jones and he offeres to sell his companion to you. Once you do so she'll believe you're Eulogys replacement.
    - Charon (Ghoul + Shotgun = BOOM) Located in Underworld has nothing to say until his contract with Ahzrukal is either sold or bought, this will cost caps or karma. Once you get the contract stand back the two guys don't play well together
    - Dogmeat (I'm going into town need some ammo?) Dogmeat is located in the crapyard south of the Minefield and North of Super Duper Mart in a place called the Scrapyard, you'll hear him being attacked by bandits. Go help him because his skin is made of paper and will die fairly easy. Once you get him, he is the only companion you need to REALLY take care of. He requires stimpacks for healing and is easily killed. However he can go fetch you chems, food, and ammo upon request which can be useful. You can also tell him to wait for you outside vault 101 and he will wait there until you show up.

Is there any reason to keep the guy guarding Big Town alive? I didn't get a particular quest from him and I accidentally got him torn to shreds running from the two supermutants up the road. I got his rifle and armor out of his death but I reckon there might be something later I'll miss if he's dead.

God good, I just stumbled upon the Deathclaw Gauntlet schematics... Holy shit LOL It has a crit x5 multiplier, ignores armor (Though a mediocre 20 dmg, other shit more then makes up for it). Anyway, I only have 28 Unarmed and I'm one-shotting robots.

I went on a Megaton killing spree for fun with the death claw; got a sweet old V.A.T.S. close-up of an old lady smilin' oh-so-kindly, THEN BLOWIN' HER BODY APART WITH A FATTY CRIT YESSS

    Seriously, go get it!

Oh yeah, I guess telling you where it is would be nice lol. It's near the most Southernwest point, at a Scott "something" campsite (not sure tbh). Just head west from the Tenpenny Tower, passed the Railroad area; it should be in a mobile home. Beware, though, Deathclaws will pop up.

    2 questions:

    1) Where is the hotel reilly's rangers are stranded in? I can't find it at all ;/

    2) Do you actually get your own place to store shit? I've kept a couple items for sentimental value, and wouldn't mind storing them somewhere (vampire blade, the shocker (For name alone))

Finding the rangers is a pain in the ass. If you don't already have the place revealed on your map, Reilly will tell you how to get to Vernon Square. Once you're there, you have to start at the Hospital which is in the southern portion of the map. From there you get to the 2nd floor, cross over to the Hotel, climb the hotel, etc. etc.

Okay, any tips on Kensiro build?

Hand to Hand perks and skill is obvious, also focus on physical stats, and OF COURSE bloody mess. But what else? I am not sure if I want to use knuckles or power fist...

Kinda suprised you've already beaten this, null did you skip alot of the side quests or just play through the story. I have about 51 hrs on my first playthrough and I havent even found my dad at galaxy radio, all I do is explore tho and its taking me a long ass time to find Ian west.

I got the game early. I'm assistant manager of Wal-Mart and I swiped the game a few weeks before it's release.
So that gave me extra time to play plus the fact that I took a vacation soon after.
I ended up putting roughly 120 hours in my first play through and got to view and do most the side quest.
I had a lot of fun exploring and finding random places. After I was done with that the main story seemed to go by within a few hours.
