This isn't the first time Miller's company caused controversy by banning a movie. In early 2006, Miller pulled Oscar-nominated movie "Brokeback Mountain" from the screens when he learned that the film was a gay love story between two cowboys. He later stated that he regretted that decision after learning about how much potential revenue he lost by deciding not to show the movie.

I live in Salt Lake City. I remember when he banned Brokeback Mountain. Many people simply refuse to see a movie in any of his theaters because of that. Banning this film is another stupid decision on his part. I hope more people follow suite in boycotting him. There are plenty of other theaters in SLC, so it's not like we don't have anywhere else to go.

I thought it was funnier, Smith's writing is better, and the supporting cast was a lot funnier imo.
